It affected in the second half, though Arsenal did little to nothing with the full squad on the 1st half. arsenal actually had no reasons to do something since they were winning 2-1 on aggregate.
Barcelon was better team today for sure, but that bad reffing ruined the match. Busacca is terrible. Not so terrible as Ovrebe, but still...

Absolutely shocking decision from the ref to send Van Persie off but Arsenal were totally, completely and utterly outclassed. Barcelona are just on a different planet.

abidal should have been off before that since had his hand around RVP's throat. sadly RVP didnt go down clutching his face like the barca players so the ref didnt feel he had to give anything
we're whining because the ref was shit, and im not even an arsenal fan

Doesn't explain all the throat grabbing that Barca did either. You're not telling the full story here, and that's besides the point. The point here was the referee was piss poor and his performance was unforgivable. He should be held accountable to all the viewers who watched that match.

De Rossi is such a poor sportsman, he is the captain and he elbowed a player in the face this morning completly off the ball.
Along with all his game changing simulation, and previous elbows (eg. against US in the world cup of 05 or 06) football would be much better off without him

Yes, but to explain the full story, appart from the Abidal action I should have to explain all the kicks in the ankle that Arsenal players made, the cut in Iniesta's leg and so on, and I am too tired to do it.

yea just seen that elbow, shocking, what a scum bag, he should get a retrospective ban since webb missed it

You're clearly way biased here... Barcelona only had 1 or 2 shit calls by the referee the whole game... Arsenal had like 10 or 11... It all started when Dani Alves Scissored Nasri leg and didn't even saw a yellow card... I've seen some referees giving a red card for that btw... But i think it's a situation for yellow only

RVP kicks the ball what two seconds after the whistle is blown? at the goal no less, not at a player or deliberately into the stands. it's just mind boggling.

The CB from Arsenal Sziesny i think, should had been sent off after that criminal tackle agains Villa. And there even was a penality against Messi not given by the same guy. Wilshere going strong every time he lost the ball, even pushing Iniesta with no intent of playing the ball. I can partially understand Arsenal complaining about the 2nd yellow to RVP, but complaining that they were fouled too much? rofl you must be delusional, Arsenal played dirty the whole match.

RVP says he didn't hear the whistle, just a moment later he says he kicked the ball one second after the whistle, how did he know how many time passed? He broke the rules, and he paid for it.
I'm not saying I agree with the decision, I do not, and I think this kind of decisions kill the beauty of matches. But nobody can say Barça won thanks to the referee, because it's not true.

No, RVP said he didn't hear the whistle. The production crew on Sky later said that one second elapsed between the whistle being blown and him kicking the ball. Multiple other times in the match even the commentators couldn't hear the whistle. I'm not suggesting that Arsenal solely lost because of that decision, but it did contribute greatly to their loss - not having an attacking threat like Van Persie really stretched Arsenal out and gave Barca a lot more space.

2-1 goal for Barcelona. Class. All class.
We can discuss referee endlessly. Barcelona had home field advantage. Just the way it works.
Personally I remember RvP doing that shit many times, last time in the WC 2010 versus Denmark. He just seems like a stupid player to me. And he talked himself out if that time. I guess this time the ref had made up his mind fast enough.
Yeah I think it's a harsch call, but it's not outrageos. Lack of feeling as a ref at most..

Also goodbye Roma.
Tomorrow goodbye Milan
Next week goodbye Inter
Goodbye Italy.

Barca were definitely the better team, but I want to see games decided by the players, not the ref. RvP had a deserved yellow in the first half, sure. The second yellow was a joke - he didn't hear the whistle (I couldn't hear it half the time, the noise was amazing) and he kicked the ball like a second after the flag went up. Abidal's hand around RvP's throat? Nothing happened, apparently. Numerous fouls called against Arsenal which were similar to uncalled fouls from Barca players, and numerous yellow cards to Arsenal players for similar tackles Barca players were getting away with. The ref bottled it at Camp Nou, plain as - overwhelmed by the occasion and reacted far too quickly in most cases, getting a lot of decisions wrong.
Good luck to Barca in the contest, they will go far if they play that way every game. Favourite moment of the game? When Wilshere went down and the Barca players were furious at his 'simulation'. This in the same game that Villa was tackled (read: someone was near him) and rolled over four times screaming in 'agony', when Abidal went down and stayed down until the game was stopped for him, only to stand up as if nothing happened. Not so much fun when it happens the other way, is it, Barca?

Barça was far better, yes.
But Busacca gave them the game
and their public is goddamn awful

NO Barcelona was NOT the better team, They sure kept a lot of possession and made great penatrating runs and so on, but that is because arsenal just sat back and played the counter. Of course barcelona needed to push and had better possession. If it wern't for Fabregas's STUPID back heel pass, then the half would have been 0-0.
Also, anytime arsenal got close to a Barcelona player, he lunged himself to the ground and they got carded yet when barcelona did anything, they got nothing. Of course the players feel sickened by the ref , they can't do anything but get carded or give a free kick away when barcelona players fucking dive. If the ref was decent Dani alves should be sent off for either a straight red or 2 yellows 1 for the nasri tackle and the second for any of the dives he did. The guy should be awarded an oscar.
Also, Valdez and Abidal should also receive reds for putting their hands on the throats of arsenal players. You don't think that played a huge role?
I don't even know why Arsenal even played this game. If the UEFA and the WORLD thinks Barcelona deserve to win everything then why bother. Stop wasting the players time, the teams time and the fans time. Fuck off and just give them the Champions League Trophy and stop bothering everybody with a biased competition.
If UEFA had any balls the game would be replayed. Arsenal offered to replay a game in the FA cup in 2001 (not sure of the year), but of course this won't happen because Barcelona felt the same way as they did last year when they lost to Inter... Helpless until that throat incident. They attacked but Arsenal defended really well. So stop with the Stats BS and man up and admit you had the ref giving you all the decisions.

You have to realize that most Gunners have been trained to only be able to see calls that are biased against their team. Calls that go the other way are always completely fair and spot on.
