[Pokemon] Choose your own adventure

Alright, I'm bored off my ass, and for some reason I feel nostalgic. I havent played pokemon fire red or leaf green much before, so I'm gonna start up a new game in Fire Red.
However, to make it fun, I wanna play it (sort of?) multiplayer, as in, whoever posts in this thread gets to decide what happens next, and what the rules of my game are for each area i enter (as long as its not absurd)

Examples: You guys decide my character gender, name, rival name, which pokemon i pick, which pokemon i catch first or which ones i catch at all.
Suppose I enter route 90, someone says 'you cant use potions on this route'
or i enter a gym and someone says 'you cant use this pokemon in this gym'

What do you guys think? It sounds like a fun idea to me, and I am mighty bored :D
