Well, take a look around youtube and you will find a lot of vids.
The game is definetely more colorful than original Diablo games. It is more "shiny" and artistically speaking resembles more WoW than Diablo. Whether you like it or not is a different thing. Personally I'm completely fine with the visuals.
Ehh I think artistically it captures the world of Diablo pretty well. It's clearly a new game, so it's going to have a more modern look and use 3D instead of sprites, but I think they did a pretty good job overall. I actually like the colors a lot from the videos I've seen, they picked a lot of muted and darker shades of all the common colors and the game's atmosphere just reminds me of D2 quite a bit.

I dunno, I remember Diablo 2 looking really shiny with all of the graphics and lighting effects, especially compared to Diablo 1. I really hate it when people bash a game because it somehow "looks like (insert game they hate)", but in reality it just has better graphics and the hater just doesnt like the fact that it doesnt look like the old game they love.
Remember when SC2 was coming out? All of the BW elitists would whine "it looks like WC3 wtf! make it 2D graphics!" Look at a picture of WC3 next to a picture of SC2. They look absolutely nothing alike except for the fact that they are both in 3D and they have better graphics than BW. In fact, if you look at pictures of all 3 games from BW to WC3 to SC2, you could say they all look similar except that each successive game looks better.
People shouldnt compare games in a knee-jerk fashion

From what's been showed in videos, very colorful and wow-ish, not what you would expect from a Diablo game
The graphis aren't that nice, but the games been in development for what 2 years + now? so they're probably on par with graphics 2 years ago. What do you people feel about the RMT AH? I don't like it, i'll still get the game though, but i think it really cheapens the gameplay, if you've got a load of cash you can skip the grinding for your own loot. Like those facebook games with cash items that give u an edge, it's pretty fucked up. I also think the game is too casual friendly to the point of being simplistic, no more skills points or stat point allocation and the ability to respec every time you visit town? Like wtf man, why not let us use more than 7 skills at a time then?
Here's a random b-roll I found on diablofans (http://www.diablofans.com/topic/26249-diablo-3-press-event-visit/) of what should be a recent iteration to give you a general idea of the way the game looks right now.
I would expect plenty of things to change and become more detailed over time though, I remember models and icons and stuff were constantly changing pre-, during, and even after the SC2 beta. They went through a lot of iterations to polish up stuff and change things they didn't like all the way up to the last second, so I'd imagine the same will be true for d3.

It's colourful like wow, but doesn't have those oversized shoulderpads and swords and pandas typical of wow.

Also remember blizzard did completely rework the model of many units due to the criticism they received and the game was better off for it.

I think it's kinda been wow-ed, I've gotten used to it, but at times when I look at it I'm like uhh..diablo? Especially when you think of the older games.

Blizzard changed SC2 graphics because a lot of people whined about it. It is way better now. Take a look at old SC2 screenshots/videos.
I'd say Blizzard did a pretty good job in general of keeping colors muted, retaining some sharp corners, and maintaining Diablo-esque character proportions. It's not perfect and I think they will probably still work on it, but I think the game could look a LOT more like WoW then it does.
I mean, compare it to Torchlight 2:
That's a lot closer to WoW'ed graphics than D3 imo.

They've added a character called "witch doctor." The game is pretty much been WoW'ed. The vids I've seen so far don't feel nearly as oppressive and bleak as Diablo 2 did. Shiny WoW stuff instead of depressing gothic stuff, mainly.
They're also on the whole incredibly underwhelming compared to the standard set by games like TW2. Graphics-wise it's really a game that would have looked good two or three years ago but that looks pretty average anno 2011. One of the downsides of not being pushed to work a lot faster.
I'm surprised I'd ever say this but I'm not exactly looking forward to this game despite the fact that I played a lot of LOD back in the day.

Haters? how is it bad I compared the graphics to WoW? WoW is my favourite game all time and the graphics are superb in that game. Not too detailed, not to shabby. Perfect.
WoW is a great mix of good graphics vs performance for the computer. I think Diablo 3 has gone in that direction because it has shown to be a winning recipe.
I just think you and many other for some reason find comparison to WoW negative. I for one like WoW graphics more than D2.
Like I said, for me the Diablo 3 visuals are just fine as it is.

No blizzard game in the last 10 years has been on the cutting edge of graphics. That's never been the goal. Even diablo 2 had dated graphics by the standard of the day.

I personally expect D3 to go this direction because Samwise is having way too much influence in character design again. That guy even managed to make Protoss Stalkers look like the Trolls from WC3...

Torchlight 2 is also not a mature adult oriented game that is about HELL, DEMONS, DEATH and DESTRUCTION. This is like saying Team Fortress 2 doesn't look enough like Call of Duty. They are two completely different art styles and universes.
Hey I'm not saying its good or bad, I'm just saying it's different. For those that think Diablo3 looks exactly like WoW, there is some very clear evidence that it does not. If there were a metaphorical scale between Diablo2 graphics and WoW graphics, D3 would certainly fall somewhere closer to the middle than the far right (which is where I'd put Torchlight).
For those that truly hate WoW graphics and would prefer pitch black sprite-based gameplay, this "hey, it could be worse!" probably means very little to them, but meh. Personally, I'm fine with the look they've got going. I'd probably be fine with a darker and even more gothic look as well though, so maybe I'm just too easy to please here.
Even though I'm completely fine with how the graphics look in D3, I still wish they returned to that D1 feel. Blizzard stated they want the game to become progressively darker as you progress through the story, just like in D2. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but the thing I absolutely loved about D1 is that the game was creepy right away. I mean, the town just instantly gave you that dark, gloomy feeling. I was scared in the first level of the dungeon. And then you had the Butcher. Man, I wish I could relive my first encounter with him, "Ah, fresh meat!". Not a single place felt like a safe haven, not even Tristram. D2 didn't start feeling creepy till probably Andariel, the first act was nothing but running through the grasslands, killing silly creatures.
Okay, so I'm kinda getting off-track here. Basically what I wanted to say is that even though I like the graphics in D3 as they are now, a part of me is really disappointed I won't be able to retain the feeling I got while playing D1.
