That was quick.
I was on race servers with Nightmare, Cyberstorm, Whaz, Stywoo, and a bunch of q3 defrag ppl last night and it was a lot of fun. Though I understand the concept of fastcaps, it's so annoying to barely miss the checkpoint flags (I wish they had big windows to go through or something). But otherwise, its pretty awesome.
Next stop: Race - Tier 4
I'll probably be streaming it a little tonight, so I'll post a link here when I start up.

after years of quake abstinence i installed quake live yesterday.
first, do they delete unused accounts over time? i still had my beta activation email, registered 2009 and i couldn't log in. i could create an account with the same email address i used years ago, so no worries but i'm a bit sad i lost my beta badge et all 
second, is quake live just unplayable under mac os x or is something wrong with my config? i tried setting everything to low, disabled shadows, post processing etc. but my fps hover around 60-70, which is unacceptable. i have a macbook pro retina (2,3 ghz i7, 8 gb ram, GT 650m 1024 mb, os x 10.8.4) which should run the game more than perfectly fine. out of curiosity i tried demo four with my local quake 3 install running iobeta 1.36 and got ~850 fps.
i have a bootcamp partition at hand, but i don't want to reboot every time i want to play a game with an engine which is essentially 14 years old :/

in regards to your account, they deleted all the beta accounts when the game went live.
and as far as fps goes it has been a while for me and im not familiar with the settings as i used to be.

I don't know which ones but most of the europeans probably aren't going because they don't have sponsors and hotel+flights cost a shit ton. Last year the only non-NA player was Cypher if i remember correcly. Sadly the QuakeCon coverage has been absolute shit the past few years so im not even that excited about it

The Duel Masters this year will feature a slightly different format than usually. The 32 players are divided over eight groups. But instead like the normal format, the top players are in one group, and will fight for the top four seeds, and so on, giving interesting matches straight from the bat.
