But that doesn't put the refs above reproach. They're paid professionals who should also be held to account if the mess up.

That "foul" on Kobe where he banked the shot was probably the most laughable. It's getting really ridiculous how pedantic the refs are being though. It's ruined two games and hopefully someone gets the message across that they need to let the guys play.

I am not worried as a Lakers fan though, it required a monstrous effort from Ray Allen to pull this off and unless the other 2 magically turn it on, then I don't see the Lakers losing this series...unless the refs start up on the phantom fouls on Kobe again...that 5th foul really hurt.

About 90% of the referee complaints I've read here make it clear that the officiating was bad both ways. If these people are all bitter L.A. fans, they aren't being too overt about it.

I thought the officiating was a bit too ticky-tack. Seemed like a lot of clean blocked shots got called which is sad. Blocked shots are the best. The thing that sucks the most is that refs seem like they have to "make up" for botched calls. Like after the questionable 4th foul on Kobe, at the other end of the floor they immediately made a laughable call against the Celtics. Anywho.. the Celtics got one on the road and the bookies in Vegas as well as the TV networks couldn't be happier as they're guaranteed at least 5 games and most likely 7. I'd bet my life that the same happens down the road in Boston. Game highlights. Obviously 7-7 3pts before the half! Wow. Kobe coming in with 52 seconds left in the 2rd quarter (had been sitting for about 5 minutes) and almost scoring 6 points in 2 seconds (which cut the lead to 6). Celtics lead by as much as 15 in that 1st half? maybe 14?

Though honestly what surprised me most was the rumblings out of Miami, as that aspect of free agency has been significantly less covered. I totally agree with Riley about the value of Stoudemire :D Edit: Jay-Z about recruiting LBJ was gold, though. "We're friends -- we've still gotta hang out! I don't want to convince somebody to do something, then have to see him and say, 'Uh, yeah, we're 4-30 ... sorry.'"

But you're slamming Pierce for one game? Did you slam Allen for his performance in Game 1 too? Pierce forgo a lot of his shot attempts for his teammate Allen. Man, you are funny. :r
