I am not sure who was playing the game in the E3 vids, but it just looked too easy to do the air combos and everything. It looks like a game where everyone can play stylishly and look good. | ||

Gameplay #1 Gameplay #2 Release date and collectors edition announced today! Capcom announced the release date for Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The game will ship on February 15, 2011 in North America. anyone else think they are lacking X-Men characters? Only Magneto and Wolverine so far... (fuck X-23) seriously, theres so many missing, Storm, Cyclops, Colossus, Rogue, Sabertooth, Juggernaut, Psylocke, Gambit, Cable, Iceman.... the list goes on, and theres only 5 slots left. and then for Capcom, where's all the Street Fighter characters? Only Ryu and Chun Li? come on... I will admit, some of the other capcom characters are amazing. (Arthur from Ghost n Goblins, Fuck yes.) but who the hell gives a shit about Viewtiful Joe or Resident Evil characters... I mean a couple of those is fine, but they dominate the roster, when Street Fighter characters should dominate the capcom roster. | ||

It's a little odd to cut that list down so far with characters like Ken, Akuma, Guile, Charlie, and Cammy that all were undeniably popular. We even still had a Cammy player take 2nd at SCR a couple weeks ago. Also, fuck Zero. Seriously. Anyone who played the horrible game TvC can back that up, the character is fucking dumb. | ||

Last I checked, there was one character from Viewtiful Joe. Namely, Viewtiful Joe. And there are only two RE characters (three if you count DLC). So I have no idea where this alleged "roster domination" is coming from. Four out of 15 is far from "domination". Storm & Cyclops have been in nearly every marvel game, always popular characters. Why shouldn't he want em? As far as I'm concerned, I've seen enough of the Four Gods over the last 10 years that if I never see Storm, Cable, Magneto, and Sentinel again, it'll be too soon. Hell, I'm already disappointed to see Mags back. And the fact that Cyclops has been in nearly every Marvel game is exactly the reason not to have him in this one. Out with the old, in with the new. If having a new character like Super Skrull means not having Cyclops, bye-bye, Cyke. And this from someone who actually likes Cyclops, both in the game and in the comics. Now, to be fair, I'm pretty much done with Wolverine and would shed no tears in him not being there. But for good or ill (and mostly ill), Wolverine is the face of the X-Men. So he has priority over Cyclops. The other thing you don't realize is just how much recycled art MvC2 used. Bringing, for example, Juggernaut, into MvC2 was very easy. They just took his spites from Marvel Super Heroes, maybe added a few more to clean up the animations if that, modified the character stats, and that's it. It probably took one guy a couple of days worth of work. It is for that reason, and that alone, that MvC2 was able to have 56 characters. When you can just pull characters in from previous games with no real work, you can do that. Bringing Juggernaut into MvC3 would require actual effort. You'd have to make a Juggernaut model, from scratch. No stealing art. You'd have to make Juggernaut animations; you couldn't steal them from another character since he's so different. And so forth. That time and effort to make the character would have to come from somewhere. Either hiring on more staff (drives up cost of development) or not making a different character. Expecting MvC3 to have the same size roster as MvC2 is simply unrealistic. | ||

I still agree with your post though. So glad new characters are being brought in. I was somewhat glad to see Magneto, mainly the fact that he doesn't seem to play like his MVC2 god mode version. | ||
