Not even, Combofiend. Clakey D had his moments but never on the big stage, while Combofiend has shown consistency and performance throughout MvC3's lifetime, not to mention Marvel 2.
Clakey just doesn't show up to as many tournaments since he only competes in LA. I wouldn't say its a big upset, they're fairly evenly matched. combofiend can win some and at other times lose some (like he has to phoenix teams on some WNF's).
Yeah its an upset but not like some random scrub beating a god. Combofiend has obviously created some epic moments but he is pretty susceptible to losing.

This doesn't take into account the Phoenix metagame. Justin tried hard to snapback Phoenix and wasted meter to do so, but obviously Tokido watched out for that and made him pay. The threat of Phoenix changed the way Justin played. If there wasn't a Phoenix, Justin would have tried to eliminate Wolvie and Sentinel straight on, but couldn't do so with the threat of lvl 5 Phoenix. Granted, the games after he reset he lost because Tokido got the throw and took at Justin's Wolvie w/X factor, but to say Phoenix had impact on Justin's performance would be silly.
I agree if by "new technology" you mean his own phoenix team =P
Maybe ) I don't really mind the phoenix at all TBQH. Not that I've gotten tired of it or de-sensitized, I just really shrug phoenix off. If I get her. Yay. If not, Oh well, play better next time. I do realize she's really strong, meh maybe its just me.
But something in my gut tells me Wong has some anti-phoenix and an anti-wolvie technology. Wolvie/Ammy/Tron (to me at least) seemed really... "Let's mash 2 good characters and an assist." on the spot kind of team. Decent to some extent, but it just feels off and not "wong-like" He's probably holding back
Same premise as Akuma's level 3 hyper that KO's DP (except without xfactor). The difference is Spidey's web throw super kills the original Phoenix with her on the ground able to be grabbed again, the Akuma level 3 only works if you kill phoenix on the ground and grab her on the ground, but if you kill her in the air (more likely) then the grab won't be insta-kill.
