<3 Chauncey. I'm almost glad we got rid of him, since his career was going down here and now he's doing great. ^^

It's obviously still early, but right now does anyone else think the Nuggets are the best team in the league, besides the Cavs? I'm not talking about the playoffs, just inconsequential February basketball. The Suns loss was tough to watch, but most of their losses are just sleep walking against shitty opponents, and their most impressive games are against the best teams (and they're in the toughest division.) I'm sure motivation is a factor as well, as the Lakers seem to just be wading their way through the regular season, but still... plus Kobe seriously needs to rest his injuries for the playoffs.

At the very least, is it fair to say the Nuggets have the best 1 to 3? Of course Chauncey and JR don't shoot close to that on average, but how many teams can beat the Lakers when they get 17/17 out of Gasol and 33 from Kobe on 50% shooting? It wasn't like Lakers-Cavs #1 where the Lakers didn't show up, or #2 where both teams didn't show up. Last night was good basketball from both teams.

Ha, Chauncey is actually a 47% 3pt shooter against the Lakers for his career. o.o

Didn't someone say this about the Grizzlies a week ago? Over a season, it's likely for a team to go on win streaks. Now the Jazz are still hot, the Bobcats just cooled off, the Hawks a little before that, Orlando before that...

What makes the Nuggets fundamentally different from a year ago? They're on pace for 55 wins...

kobe finally sits out a game (after he randomly scores 30+ on 50% shooting) ! let's hope he sits out until the all star game, and comes back after all star weekend and totally tears shit up

Well I think whats different from a year ago is motivation. Look at how BEASTLY Carmelo is this year, and how as Jibba said, the Nuggets are playing in the toughest division in the NBA.

The Blazers are better in a very weird way after having some of the worst injury luck of any team in any sport.

Then Utah is well...just playing insane lately.

OKC can win on any given day against anyone with the future MJ on that squad.

So they are in a stacked division with plenty of incentive to win. If they come out on top this year they have even more confidence than last year. I don't know if you heard the announcing of Mark Jackson I think it was but he said the Nuggets truly believe they are better than the Lakers. That goes a long way in achieving success.

the jazz for me are one of the more exciting teams to watch (esp when they win). you just gotta love the way they share the ball. everyone's constantly moving around, cutting, setting screens etc and a lot of the time it leads to easy baskets. their defense leaves a lot to be desired though.

Pretty standard Jazz mid-season surge.

They'll be sucking again come playoffs time.

Not that hate them or anything, but they have the same old stale roster that will take them to the first or second round of the playoffs, but ultimately they will be cannon fodder for the better teams like LA or Denver. They're actually probably the 3rd or 4th best team in the West, but tbh I find a team like Oklahoma (or even Memphis) way more exciting and potential filled.

Smith is a tad more disciplined and Carmelo is playing at his playoff level from last year, including the defense. Most importantly (regarding the Lakers), Ty Lawson is going to give them problems until they figure out how to deal with quick guards.

Lebron put on some ridiculous 1st quarter show vs the Knicks. He decided to dick around and take every shot for around 7 minutes, which were mostly contested long twos, and three pointers 5+ feet behind the line. Seeing as there is no god, he ended up hitting most of them and had about 29 points in the first quarter.

I stuck around to try and watch the rest of the game in case something special happened (Lebron decides to keep it up for the rest of the game and score 80), but bron-bron calmed down and it turned into your typical knicks rapefest

I was hoping he'd keep going to be honest. The best result would have been to score 81 points, brick the next shot with a behind the back toss and walk off the court. When you score 44 points in the first quarter, you get some leeway to dick around.
