Thank you dkpl for sharing this in mumu (it was you right?) I've created a music group with my asian buddies at school and we're gonna try to arrange/play this at one of the school concerts =D This song is great cus the parts are pretty simple (to hear), the instruments are already "real" instruments, flute violin etc. etc., and all the parts/instruments are roughly equally epic and no one part is too boring. Even the percussion/timpani is not that boring, it has an epic beat... and percussion is usually boring anyways, so this relatively should be fun haha. Only problem is finding a percussionist who isn't asian and doesn't know touhou to play or to have someone who does know play/learn timpani. There was someone who could have done it but he had to move to a nearby school lol. And it's also cool how the song goes back and forth between instruments, featuring each one at different parts, it's just so epic. Looking forward to playing this xD Probably gonna do Strings = Violin Mallet/Strings = Clarinet (Cus one of our members plays Clarinet, and Clarinet blends well with strings) Strings/ElectricGuitar = Saxaphone/ElectricGuitar (Cus one of our members plays Sax, and Sax blends well with Clarinet/Strings) French Horn = French Horn Trumpet = Trumpet Flute = Flute Keyboard = Piano Timpani = Timpani Other Perc (suspended cymbols, tamberine) is optional, but they play in parts where other people (the other instruments) don't need to play so they can cover. And possibly make some of the Keyboard parts into violin so that it doesn't take the keyboardist (me) forever to practice lol. And I think the keyboard is a bit too heavy on the epic parts, and the violin doesn't really have any fast parts since it's an instrument that should play fast, and the violinist is super good... the trumpet/french horn don't have fast parts either but they're not the kind to play super fast but just loud epic parts. Same with the electric guitar I guess. Well these are my thoughts you guys think there is no huge problem? :D Also do you feel the other percussion is needed? | ||

I agree but I don't think it would hurt he sound too bad. When I listen to the song, the timpani is pretty much the bass and the song sounds very "treble"-ish to me. When I picture it, the french horn and timpani should be good enough bass... the timpani rings throughout the whole song. I know the strings aren't just violins, they have a lot of lower string instruments too, but we don't want to (nor have the players to) have a huge orchestra lol. We might just add a trombone and a bass clarinet for the bass to support the violin, but not sure if that would blend well lol. Basically we want to keep it within our circle of touhou friends as much as possible xD | ||
