It's always fun to read these "Beware of the BW pros!" articles.
While I'm not saying that the "old" BW pros transferring won't take 90% of code S spots for themselves at first, I wouldn't cry end of the world either. Basically the current roaster of SC2 consists of not-that-exceptional-at-BW players that have some experience, but never managed to become that good at BW and those youngsters that joined the scene with SC2 (I'm not counting WC3 now...). The first group has also two different types of players, those that were too young to keep up with the other pros with 5-10 years experience-advantage in their bags and those that really weren't that skillful. Give them some time and the first group will grow up to the BW pros' level, because with time they'd kick ass at BW as well, they just chose SC2 for their learning field. I'm pretty sure every big name in BW started as an inexperienced noob at one point. You don't gain competition smarts overnight, it takes time. Basically, BW pros had 14 years to hone their skills at their game why should a pro in a fledgeling game such as SC2 have the same abilities? They aren't inferior human beings or anything, they are able to learn the same things BW players could and once the BW pros will come with their different perspective, young 15 year old kids will adapt a whole lot faster than you'd expect it.

the colossus in the room This just shows how ridiculous this entire article is. They're 2 different games and skill does not transfer directly 1 to 1.

Leenock is the one player you can't use to disprove this article, as he was too young to play competitive Brood War in the first place.

In what world do you live in where winning an MSL makes you an OSL champion? Cuz I'm sure Bisu would like to live there.

I might have mentioned it earlier in the thread but being bothered by the possible elephant people been arguing about is on the person feeling bothered by it to a large degree.
Most people that watch women downhill on tv aren't bothered by the fact that male skiers are "better". And those that are bothered by it probably don't care about womens downhill to begin with.
There are literally thousands of similar things most people choose not to care about. Where unlike this, it's not even up to debate that we aren't watching the most skilled human beings.
It can be hard to control your feelings but in the end the problem is mostly personal. If people want to think it's a problem that current stars are most likely really bad compared to the stars we'll have in 5 years it's just a variation on same line of reasoning.

the colossus in the room This just shows how ridiculous this entire article is. They're 2 different games and skill does not transfer directly 1 to 1. I think this is somewhat ignorant... Winning a few games, falling off or stay competetive throughout a longer period of time are very different things. With similar logic, MVP is the living proof that this article holds some very valid arguments and opinions of what is to come.
This game is extremly volatile so yes, it's easier to loose even if you're a better player, and that makes what MVP has done even more impressive and scary imho, which also supports the claims in the OP.

This article was stupid and lacking balance when it was written its still stupid

the colossus in the room Firstly, MSL =\= OSL.
Second... 3-time OSL champion and 2-time OSL champion fail to make R16. Oh wait I was talking about July and Boxer. Oh did you forget they're past their prime? Oh did you forget that ForGG won his MSL in 2008? 4 YEARS AGO?
the colossus in the room was just a halluc by Huk.

Sup ForGG, that was Leenock, GSL runner up and MC, 2 times champ. Lets see if your 2nd run through code A will be as easy this time!

Cue forGG getting a difficult code A group and never getting back to code S totally nullifying this thread/first post

What a farce!!! :p
So sad for forGG to lose as an MC hater and a terran fanboy... at least the elephant bites the dust

Sup
I'm just here to witness BW elitist tears as forgg gets his butt handed to him by true sc2 pros.
