I hope Myungsik doesn't retire after his heart breaking loss vs Maru in Proleague. He looked so depressed after the game and was even crying.

I really think his phoenix opening countered really well Maru's style and was very effective, deflecting most of the aggression with good trades. He just lacked confidence when it came to counter attack because he never made that decision and let Maru dictate the game for too long. A well timed counter attack from him would have probably sealed the deal.

I really think he showed the way to other protoss to counter Maru. He just lacked the finishing.

He is playing really well lately and is on a new team. It is exciting times for him, he is definitely not going to retire any time soon especially after a bit of BM from the best Protoss killer in the world when he nearly won.
In regards to him not counter attacking. It's easy to see as a spectator at the time but much different when plying. The reason he was defending so well is because he was not attacking. If he leaves his base with the phoenix he can't lift and kill the widow mines so Maru is free to drop widow mines in all his mineral fields and destroy his probes. If he just moves out with his army and leaves the phoenix at home to defend against drops then his colossus/army is too exposed and would get rekt by Marus bio. He had to remain passive and his strat was nearly good enough to beat the best Terran in the world and the best Protoss killer in the world so he should be proud nonetheless even though he lost. He did a better job than Stats, Zest, etc etc.
