I like Zest and hope he will do well again next year. At the same time, people gotta stop bring up every single win or loss from Zest to determine if he is in a good form or bad form. Let just enjoy his games and drop the guessing stuff. Winning or losing, at least he is still playing. Wait until the next big offline tourney, then we will see how good his form is.

He wins by staying ahead in upgrades, constantly outproducing the opponent in units warping in 10 at a time and mircro of his Stalker's to near perfection. This has always been a viable build but it is better now with stalker's dealing .5 more damage. You can mix in some DT attacks from time to time and always make Archons when HT's use up energy. A fundamentally sound build for a mechanically sound macro player. In the interview Zest said he never losses to Terran with that build. Over time he might have more exotic things to do with the patch but he can play that way in his sleep. His only error was forgetting about the shield batterys in game one.

I was not impressed at all with HeroMarine yesterday. His win over Namshar, his match with Zest and certainly his 3-1 loss to Namshar. JJakji will be more of a match.

This is why we love this game so much and it is extra special when our favorite player wins. This Homestory was bigger than the one in August. More good players. More Koreans participating. More than twice the prize money. Zest took home $4000 in august he gets $10,000 for this win. What a boon for him and his confidence going into 2018. I dare anybody to watch that tournament and tell me this is a dead game. Zest is best!

Charged zealots are a great economical unit for any matchup and when playing Zerg there is no need to make early Stalkers and the blink upgrade unless you see a spire. Zest crushed it with Zealots and Immortals and added storm and Archons later.

Outside of the obvious lack of a MC and the need to build shield batteries the builds and the strategies are basically the same. And this is why i love Zest, such great innovator of the game. Cool ideas and exceptional micro skill. A real pioneer protoss.
