Anyone knows whats up with herO lately? I haven't seen him stream for weeks now, he rarely plays on tournaments, etc... I hope he's not planning to leave sc2.

He just played in the BTSL offline event losing 0-3 to Impact in the semifinals.

herO is back to his 2016 form so we should appreciate all the matches he participates in before he gets eliminated and we won't see him again until next year.

Well, in my opinion, he is on par with his 2016 form but at least in 2016 he qualified all GSL seasons. This time he failed to qualify for S2 which cut off his GSL streak. Otherwise, he would get Nestea award this S3 for 10 GSL in a row. He didn't even bother to go to (nor qualify for) IEM Katowice (he always qualified for IEM events in the past). So in some way, he is rock-bottom in term of form.
I watch him stream, in which he is OK for the most part (The latest when he rage quitted, was a little shocking though) and watch the live games of his. In tournaments he looks very unfocused and bad these days. Even if for Protoss these days are extremely tough.
Is he have a girlfriend now? These plays are very uncharacteristic of him I remember 2016 but I think he played much much better then.

I do agree I think he was better in 2016. He made to Ro8 twice at GSL in 2016. This year has been rough for him especially compared to last year. He is coming very close to join army and it will be really sad if he does before winning a GSL because he is capable to do so. I hope he can refocus and shred the image of being a cheeser which in my opinion is his downfall. He is amazing at standard macro games with a mix of aggression and harassment. He is such a versatile P which is his true form.
I am not saying this because I am a big fan of his but imho he is the best sc2 player period. What he can accomplish with so little is amazing. He just have some very serious flaws. I am not sure if he can come back until we got some seriously important balance patch for toss.

Having that said I am pretty much agree with you.
Is joining the army in South Korea a necessity?
He is certainly my favorite Protoss as I find his style is fun to watch. He can do it all so it doesn't look boring to watch at least as a viewer. He used to be the best back 2013/2014 when he made to final at almost every tournament he played and won 3 IEMs within like 1 year. It is unfortunate he is just not as consistent as he used to be. He becomes a bit too cheesy and too aggressive. I find his defense is the worst among all P in Korea. He seems always too busy attacking and neglects what is going on back home.
Yes, military service is required for all Korean male citizens. You will have to do it at some point especially when you reach late 20s which is the case for herO. He, Classic and Zest are pretty much having this year and next year left at max.
yes, i saw the rage quit- the game against Rogue. he became lazy lately streaming less and nowhere to be found. i really hope he find glory with the last season of GSL.
He has a GF now and he seems pretty happy "offline" these days. Maybe he is ready to move on from SC2. I'm not sure if he is gonna stick around for next year or not. I guess it depends on GSL result. He basically needs to make it to the final to have a chance going to BlizzCon. It looks grim with a group of Protoss though. If he is gonna get rekt in group of P again, I think that may be the end of it for herO.
wow, that's intriguing. thank you anyhow for the share, the "gf" thing is something we cannot judge (if you know what I mean lol!). well PvP is always crazy coins can turn other sides. I agree with you, if he makes it to RO8 we will have more of him but if the same curse will repeat like GSL S1 it is farewell for him.
While I am happy that he found love and all the good stuff, I am sad we won't see him in SC2 scene anymore. Anyhoo It was a pleasure to see his play all these years, take care herO!
