But in my eyes he overcame the low morale period after losing in the GSL finals and still looks very, very good. It's still possible that he grabs a title later in this year.
It's not that likely he keeps up his form if his teammates keep bullying him. And who knows how the Korean scene will look after the liberator nerf. Might be sad times ahead of Terran fans. You know, sadder than now where Terran is the strongest race and nobody knew.
It would break my heart if TY didn't make it to Blizzcon this year. But it's a very real possibility because Korea only has 8 seeds and almost no chances to earn points He needs at least 1 more good run in one of the Starleagues, and that's hard.
Wow TY's loss today really hit you hard! I've never seen you this pessimistic before. Are you trying to be me???
I thnk he has a very good chance to make it to Blizzcon. He has a decent amount of WCS points already, he's qualified for both starleagues. There's a bunch of dangerous players in the run but most of them are behind in points. He will probably be in with a good in only one of the starleagues and if he keeps this form -which it seems he will- he will take it.

He's only 1000 points ahead of the cutoff atm. I'd assume he won't go out before the Ro16 in Code S, but with the weird SSL Challenge system there's no guarantee he gets any points there. It's entirely possible he'll get overtaken by enough players to miss the cutoff. There's some big names lurking who didn't do that well in season 1. Think about it, he's only 400 points ahead of Patience and Patience will never make the cut. And the very possibility that it might happen annoys me to no end. Especially if he ends up at rank 9 and only doesn't make Blizzcon because of WCS.
The loss today wasn't that bad, although it sucks. TY is my favorite player on KT and I want him to be successful. In the end, the loss against Dark pissed me off way more, because I never thought he'd even bring Stats to game 7. The things I have to say about the state of TvP are not tolerated in this forum. And also because I like Stats and don't like Dark.
Plus, imagine how it feels walking through the teamhouse every day and looking at two guys who cost you over 20,000$.
And ALSO... when the first round of Proleague ended they said "KeSPA Cup in May". Wonder what happened to that.
TY will be fine. He's still playing at a very high level. Surely if he gets a RO8 that would be enough to get him there.
I don't see most of the people who did well in season 1 doing well again. Like i don't see Cure, Dream, Losira going far again. Not to mention ragnarok or Patience or any of them.

Mainly concerned about herO, Dear, Classic and maybe ByuN. Those are good players relatively close in points. I'd say people like Maru are more likely to win a Starleague than to just pass TY by points anyway.
I'd still like to know what happened to that KeSPA Cup tho.
Yeah Dear and herO i see as two big threats. I think Classic won't do as well and bomb out again. Byun too. Maru i wouldn't be surprised if he won one either.
That's pretty lame that it just never happened. I can only hope there wasn't time due to cross finals and junk so they postponed til after season 2. But with no word coming out i don't like our chances. Much like the global events :/

Something would have to go terribly wrong for him to not advance comfortably.
Just accounting for options. Cheese etc. And his favorite TvZ build just got nerfed.

Yeah for sure. As much as Wolf loves to say TY never dies to cheese, he does pretty often

He was really good at defending cheese in HotS (remember 2015 SSL season 3, Trap cheesed him 3 out of 4 games and the only time it worked was a bit lucky), and I would say he does know better to react to cheese than most other top Terrans (usually messes up something during the execution should he lose). But there are just times where he doesn't scout properly.
What comes to mind is that game in Proleague where he lost to a 1-base baneling bust from soO because he only used his reaper to scout and only checked the naturals on a 4-player map.
TY looking sick today at the SSL group stage! 5-0 so far. I was a bit scared for him after the liberator nerf but the loss of his TvZ build doesn't seem to have hurt him too much.
Damn, that's a really good interview. From him being envious of how good Maru is right now, to him actually calculating his Blizzcon chances, to him being shocked about losing to Dark, and then ending it with challenging Maru for the Terran throne.
That's a lot more personality than we normally get
That really is a great interview! TY is so hungry. You can feel his ambition. I can understand, the guy has been a pro for so long and the big wins have always barely slipped from his grasp. I'm really rooting for him this season. TY fighting!!
