If TY makes semis that's pretty respectable for his last world championship but I don't see him going further than that. Any player on the other side of the bracket would have more feasible than Zest or Serral (and Clem needs his own miracle to reach the semis).

So PartinG it is. For a world championship quarterfinal I honestly don't think you can ask for a much weaker opponent. It would obviously have been better with one of the other matchups though. Time to see if his TvP has recovered some.

PartinG's pretty in shape though you gotta admit. He almost won his group, he made it past Inno. And a series against PartinG is far removed from any normal TvP anyway. That said I'd hope TY has something figured out, it is his last Katowice.

Yeah not going to disagree with that. And I guess the chance that PartinG has prepared something against this player who keeps preventing his glory is probably bigger than the other way around.

Let's hope TY decided on preparing only for PartinG and trusted that his TyT would suffice against Inno.

He had no real answer to PartinG's early game. That was a hard series to watch. We didn't even get to see it enter a mid-game on even footing. TY looked tired too, but who can blame him given the time?

How are you gonna enter a mid-game on even footing if you only do 1-base openers that are easy to scout and you are infamous for?

TY’s vs Protoss match up is so strange. Sometimes he turns up with refined ideas about the match up and looks great. Other tournaments he turns up with builds that were worked out 3 months earlier and can’t make it beyond early game. I get that he might not have thought up a new pressure build, but he seriously just needs to play more standard meta if that’s the case, because Protosses have learnt to deal with what worked for him last year (build shield batteries) and leaving yourself a base down is asking for trouble.

Well, I just know he can still compete in Super Tournament. Hope he stays in his best shape. But I am not that confident since his mechanics are as good as other top-tier players.
