User was warned for this post You didn't actually watch any of the games in october and this morning did you? Or hell, even listened to what korean terran and protoss players have been saying for months. Remember the balance issue was only really at the HIGHEST level of play. What people have been seeing in their own games likely doesn't mean a whole lot. I'm going to make a pretty big assumption here, but I'm guessing you have a fairly even TvP win percentage, and are basing this about how you feel in your own games. A lot of pretty big differences only really show themselves when things are controlled perfectly, timings are absolutely crisp, and macro is impeccable.
This man speaks truth. Truest balances or imabalances rarely show themselves before being placed in the hands of an amazing player. What if Carriers are secretly OP? We don't think so, because we've only seen them fail. BUT maybe someone knows how?
This is where protoss is. They sorta reached an apex of potential with units and builds and timings to a degree back during the reign of MC. Then Zerg caught up, then Terran powered forward, and now, with all 3 races at a relative equal understanding of play at the highest level, the balances/imbalances are much clearer. Not perfectly clear, but clearer.

I wouldn't presume to judge the quality of play, but players with a focus on High Templar (or occasionally just constant small group based Warp-in harass like Sage did in his first remarkable game) are the only ways to make Protoss play look good to me. And even though I still wish Khaydarin Amulet were restored, I was a happy Templar today.
Code S Spoilers:
+ Show Spoiler +By contrast, Puzzle may be the only Protoss in Code S I wanted to fail. I remember being so depressed by PvZ back when every Protoss was doing that 2 base Blink Stalker all in game after game. As I recall, Puzzle got to Code S largely through PvP, then back with still more PvP in last season's Up-and-Downs, and thus far he's failed to impress me in any way.
Incidentally, does anyone else get the feeling that Calm Before the Storm is really helping out Protoss? Protoss seem to be doing phenomenally on that map.

They are thinking of rename it to Calm Before the Psi-Storm. Seriously tho. I'm glad that Protoss players are doing well this time.

Maybe naniwa loss when it looked like he would take it, or the two foreign protoss being eliminated in ro48.
