sad thing is that the official rulebook of iem didn't count on mapscores - just on wins.
The rule which decided it was handed out to players only before the event - There the mapscore has been added

and on that that note, they all tied with the same amount of wins at 2. so the tiebeaker went to h2h in which Hero lost, hence clearly inferior and didn't deserve to move on.

That was unfortunate, so very close T_T. Good job anyway HerO!

I'm really sad but cannot say it is unfair... I was looking forward to watching more hero games, instead, we have MMA vs....Feast. Gosh imagine if Hero advanced in his place... The "what if's"... Everything that could have been...
Bo3 group stage is probably as balanced as you can get. Tough luck for hero

i just cant believe that 4:3 is better than 5:4... i mean seriously? this doesnt need a genius to know that 5:4 is better than 4:3

I know we are HerO fans and wanted him to advance, but let's not make uninformed comments.
4:3 was not better than 5:4, they use map differential which they were both tied since it was +1 (4-3= 1, 5-4 = 1)for both.
Then it went to maps between the tied players and in this case, only HerO and Feast were tied. So basically it was H2H which feast won 2-1.

5/4 = 1.25 4/3=1.333repeating
1.25<1.333
4/3 is a better win/loss ratio

I hope TL gets Hero some sort of training for his nerves. They look like they're getting worse actually.

Exactly An even simpler way of putting this is to look at the ratios at 20 wins (4/3 times 5/5 and 5/4 time 4/4) 4-3 is 20 wins 15 losses 5-4 is 20 wins 16 losses doesn't take a genius to know that the first poster was wrong. It sucks that hero went 2-1 and did not qualify, but this was much more fair than putting him over feast. Gl to you in the future though Hero! (I think he may have relaxed too much g2 vs qxc and wanted to put on a show, which cost him advancement)

Poor HerO T_T
Anyway, anyone knows the schedule for the NASL showmatch between him and Polt?

<3 HerO.
Try to not let your emotions block you from doing well and make you do silly things. You are so good! And don't beat yourself up if they do get to you. Just move on and try harder to just be yourself and relax next time. When you just play and be yourself you do really really well, always.

HerO still one of the best protoss. He shouldn't be so angry with himself, we still love him!
