Mc lost to 111 twice and did not win a single map in IEM final and he could still manage to stay strong. You can do this too. Be a man.

I'm no good player to tell you what to do or give you advice. So I'll tell you about my story. I used to be the shy nerd guy in school (Im still the nerd though XD, and proud of it) and of course there was this girl. We liked each other, that was evident but... there was also mi mind. Thinking about all viable options, reviewing events before they happened. Talking to her again and again in this mental model I had of her. But every time I wanted to asker to be my girlfriend... I went in shock. So, after 4 attempts one of my friends, who didn't liked her as much went for her. It just took him 2 weeks, he asked her to be her girlfriend and that was it. For the next month I was depress, she was perfect... beautiful and damn smart. Until one day, taking a shower I realized something... there really are no boundaries. Everything is in our minds, no sky or horizon is the limit. After that I decided to focus, and get what I wanted. Not because I deserved it, but because I worked for it. After that my life changed, hell I even won a singing contest without singing well before. Because everything is in our minds, all those barriers and strengths. And so, here are some of the things I learned. If you thought you wanted, its because you really want it. If you didn't you wouldn't have thought about it. If you are afraid of loosing something, go for it. You currently don't have it, so you you can't loose it, on the contrary you can finally earn it. If you where the smartes guy on the planet, you wouldn't need to think because you would aready have the answers... so, to get your maximum potential, don't think. Of course there is a training/learning process. No one will ever give you a trophy if people don't know what you are doing. Comunicate your achievements, little or great. Im sure only a small percentage of the planet has done it. Anger and good thoughts are not for competitions, dont "hear" your coach or your friends advice while playing. Just play, since very time you think about something you lose a second. Here is where I finally understood the phrase : JUST DO IT. You can only be something if you believe it... You can't be the best if you don't act or feel like the best. Equally for being handsome, smart, strong, fast... Your brain is a training center... What is the difference between doing things on the real world or in your mind? A simple electric pulse that goes to your muscles... So, if you train in your mind, it will know what to do in the real life, and actually it will do it good. The final, and most important lesson I learned is: Be happy. Happines isn't gained, given or bought, it is a state of life you decide. (its in your brain, again) After 5 years, I have a beautiful and damn smart girlfriend to whom I'll merry this year. HerO, I wish the best to you in the next turnaments. Never look down, remember chest in the air and eyes on the infinite. Regards, Ignacio Mtz

Mental toughness seems to be a weakness of his, and it's a skill that's not easy to learn on your own - maybe not a standard coach (I don't actually know what coaches typically do in SC2), but it can be really helpful to have someone to give you direction and reflect on your performances etc. Still one of my favourite players by far! Agreed! Maybe TL can hire a mentality coach as opposed to a SC2 coach in the future or maybe oGs has some coaches that could help? HerO has the skills, just not the mental toughness!
