XlorD is a former WarCraft III player from Germany. His name first got known when the only 15 year old Undead Player got recruited to SK Gaming's talent team by Dennis "TaKe" Gehlen. When he finally turned 16 years old and was allowed to play in the ESL Pro Series he became the champion 3 seasons in a row. XlorD started playing SC2 fulltime in 2012 and got a personal sponsorship by XMG. He finished 3rd at HomeStoryCup 6 beating Bly (2x), MMA, Brat_OK and Stephano (2x).
I haven't seen much of him, but I hear he's a pretty great player. I admittedly don't know much about the event, but he just beat HasuObs to take ESL LigaPokal recently.
When he finally realizes that assigning queens to group hotkeys is pretty good, he'll hopefully become the great player i want him to be. Seriously, he probably has the worst inject timing of all GML players simply due to the fact that he doesn't bind them.
I think the MYM.MVP partnership and Xlord going full time pro in about a month is a good reason to revive his fanclub! So gl Xlord and MYM.MVP and I'm sure we will see great things in 2012 :D

coL.MYM.MVP sounds weird ...
This is from the MYM.MVP thread:
update: seems like the coL.MVP partnership ended 2 days ago. The named reason is conflict in sponsor products. Even after the official partnership ended, "team MvP will continue to offer housing for compLexity players who desire to train in Korea." (nice move) http://www.complexitygaming.com/news/3509/

Yeah Xlord is around for ages. Remember old times where i watched him on GIGA, ouhh these where good times :D. But BTT, i think if he goes to Korea with enough Motivation he could make it as far as Naniwa...
I hope Xlord does his duty when he said "bye bye Stephano", otherwise he`ll be just another boring zerg from Europe who can`t accomplish nothing except some boring tournaments when 90% Hiyun takes them.
as one of the few non-german posters in this thread, i believe xlord can make a splash.
he should have waited to say bye bye stephano until now, it would be more fitting (i know he said "when i go fulltime" but still)
also i really want to know at least some indicators of how hes doing...i see none but im not from europe. someone please let me know his current results?

I met him recently on ladder, so he's high master on EU or so. Don't think he's ready to go far in big tournaments just yet, but perhaps in the future =)

Yes I'll second that question. Anyone here mind explaining what happened? There's a lot of ragey comments so it must have been something pretty bad. Either that or they're all diehard Stephano supporters?!? (The one guy...).
There was a disconnect in XLord-Stephano game one, XLord was ahead, the situation was handled poorly by the admins, Xlord showed some BM and finally Stephano just gave the win to him.

well it was game 2 of stephano vs xlord. xlord was pretty far ahead, having 8 vs 0 infestors being 10 supply up, having forth finished, buying time with his mainarmee to kill stephanos forth, having a bigger bank. stephanos only advantage was that his upgrades were 2/2 vs 2/0. The connection died. tlo dimaga and snute were discussing if it was a clear win on stream instead of having some admins deciding about this issue. Snute was the only one who was clearly for Xlord to give him the win. then xlord was asked if he wants to take the win and play a bo5, he declined and said, that it was a clear freewin because he had enough fungles was killing stephanos forth and every advantage i mentioned earlier. Dimaga take and tlo where indecisive, so stephano admitted his lose and xlord advanced. now people are hating on him, because he fought for his advantage, or for whatever reason they are hating. (this was not a invitation to hate on.)

You forgot to mention that it was unclear if Xlord was going to attack in a really bad position for him, Apollo called for a regame on twitter as well.
Also that Xlord stepped in during the arguments and started saying it was a "freewin" and "even bronze players should know", as well as refusing the admin propositions AFTER he stepped in. And also that once Stephano gave him the win he still kept bickering and annoying Stephano that finished by saying "you don't want a regame, you don't want the win, what do you want?! I give you the win congrats it's over".
So yeah stepping in like that and being bm to Stephano after he just gave him the win won't bring you fans.
Such a shame, this guy goes 4-0 in his group, 2-0s both Stephano and MMA, but the community reaction is negative due to a him letting his emotions get the best of him for a second. This is a great result for him, and he could go further yet. But sadly in this world, popularity is sometimes more important than results, and Xlord might have shot himself in the foot. Still, at least he got some publicity.

I think the thing is he could have explained and expressed himself a bit better + had some better manners. So people are mad because he acted so childish and swore a lot.
It went like this: "OMFG WHAT THE FUCK I WAS CLEARLY LEADING GIVE ME THE FUCKING VICTORY WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU" , and then Stephano was like "Omg, you can have the win if you want it so bad".
Not to bash or disrespect XlorD or anything, just clearing the situation a bit. I'm impressed he managed to get this far and and win MMA and Stephano. We'll see if he gets even further in this tournament.
I'm not a fan but I come there to say i've been impress by Xlord performance the only true patch Z, the guy who had the balls to say he'll be really good when queendralisks were bornt and who actually performed when Z have been nerfed. And a true competitor, able to take a win when he needs.
Xlord, don't worry it'll fix itself. Stephano fans are mad (I'm a Stephano fan but I'm not the kind of guy that is biased) and that's normal, every DC provokes controversy anyway.
By the way, great play, you really surprised me, improving so fast. Winning this tournament is very possible for you.
Nice that all the kiddies come to bash him for his attitude by acting like kids...
I wish he had taken the game legitimately, just so he could rub it in Stephano's face after laughing when they were talking about how Xlord said he would do well. It's a shame that it ended like it did, but he'd already won one game and was ahead again.
Well, i don't like both players, but i'm pretty sure a regame would've been the most comfortable situation for audience and hsc, because so far this tournament is a disaster (stream unwatchable, etc.. ) and all ppl want, is a fluent stream of good games which they couldn't provide so far. besides that, nobody rly likes xlord in ger because he is a premature dumb moron. imho wrong decisions from hsc but i forgive them because the organisation is semi professional and they don't know it better.

dont know about that though, i heard nothing like this srsly, i think this is now just speculation, i didn't hear anyone saying anything actually but i might be also wrong, i mean up to the point with freewin i heard it but after i dont know if its true. but as i said might be

Wrong thread man. Wrong thread. I know who's being a ''premature dumb moron'' here.
I have no clue why, but i think it will all come down to a zvz final between snute and xlord for HSC. I am really impressed by him even if i am a huge TLO fan (for the tournament) regards
if you critizise XlorD for his behaviour, First think about how you would have reacted in his situation, where you are about to 2-0 one of the absolute favorites, which won already so much prize Money in tournaments. now you are about to beat him with a good advantage and get a dc, while being centimeters away from the First big prize Money of your SCII career. would you just thoughtless accept the chance to get dropped? i mean, everyone knows Stephano, everyone knows he is one of the few players abled to turn a 0-2 Into a 3-2. think about that.

No, it doesn't really require any thinking - you just either have pride and honor or not.

Then neither player - or like 99% have not. because they would have reacted same in this situation, the hating is just not fair. XlorD showed great performance. If their roles would be switched, Stephano would have reacted the same way.
And it's just pure logic and common sense to decide for 875$ - 10000$ over pride and honor. I don't say i like this at all, but money rules the world. The sad truth.

Saying that doesn't excuse or justify rudeness and lack of manner. xLord was being completely unreasonable and just complained until the players gave in. And why would you assume that Stephano would have reacted the same way? He actually probably wouldn't. He was the one who gave xLord the win, without argument or complaint, afterall. Stephano let him have the win just to avoid further drama, at Stephano's own sake.
To be clear, I'm not on either player's side - just saying how I feel about the situation. xLord played extremely well.
To be fair, it's much more stressful to be a breakout player, trying to make a name for one's self, rather than the establish foreign hope, with a huge salary, fan base, and one of EG's hottest pick-ups.
Even though I think Xlord certainly was bm and lost his cool, he was in a MUCH more stressful position then Stephano. He's been practicing and looking for this opportunity for a LONG time.
gl to both, I hope you learn to keep your cool in the future.

Thats nonsense... He has great decision making, the only thing that I am really impressed about so far I have seen... This BM has to stop now, its really disrespecting for Xlord (although also kinda a little deserved by his arrogance).
Yeah, stupid patchzerg. Beating Stephano only because of the zerg patch.
Idiots.
Maybe he only got to play Stephano (twice) because of the patch, but he beat him one and a half times in a mirror match up where patches don't do much to give one player an advantage.
Actually his breakout (right now) is this tournament after the infestor nerf (and the seeker missle buff). it doesnt make sence that he has his breakout right now and not before the patch. the reason has to be that he is greatly improving.
i think personally think that snute is much more patchzerg than him, because his breakout was actually just before. however, snute shows great decision making too and if you look at his perfomance, hes being improving the whole year. i think xlord finally could finally transfer his rts experience and now shows, that he can fight with the best.also winning against stephano in the rematch shows, that even if he would have lost that game in the end, it doesnt mean that he would loose the whole series. winning this 3rd place match was more than crucial for his this "story" and i think people should drop the hating, because in the end it didnt really matter and xlord showed that he IS even in zvz with stephano.

Very good point, this, and JUST this !
I also want to mention that I liked how Snute said he want to make this 2-0 for xlord with a BO5, that would have been the best decision, no doubt. Not really fair by xlord
Edit: almost a year now where he said "If I play fulltime, I'll 20 times better than Stephano" - yea, 0 results since then, 0 international competitions... great skill "overminzerg"
XlorD should not change his behaviour. he was always arrogant in a funny way (back in wc3) and thats his image, which i really like :D!! the ceremony scene is hilarious XD.
we need persons like this in the scene. otherwise it becomes really boring. if people cant take it, they should watch tennis.

it's not because a zerg player started to be successful after the patch that he has not skill
stop being butthurt
He didn't even play actively before the patch. Now is everyone who starts the game, is zerg and performs good a patch zerg :D?
Also he played a lot of zvz.
Go XlorD, look how fast he became no. 1 in Germany!
ofc they are all patch zergs if they just started playing seriously but beat players who played T/P alot longer, so they cant be on the same level in theory. if they are on the same level in practise there is something fundamentaly wrong with the game. and dont tempban me for this (@randommod)... i dont say Xlord is a bad player (he is obv good) but it says something that most "upcoming" players are zerg or choose zerg as their main race.

We can safely call him the Reddit drama zerg.
Maybe if you didn't know him before HSC....
That's just the way xlord is and he won't change, because some randoms on reddit think that he is a dick.

xlord always was one of the most polarizing characters in WC3 and i'm glad he still hasn't lost his humor. awesome result at HSC, don't listen too all the "i read something about him and that must be true" haters..
Reddit isn't as bad as people make it out to be, it just has a bunch of users that refuser to check up on facts.
Either way, Xlord seems like a cool guy. Not my kind of guy, and I'm not a big fan of his play, but I'm looking forward to see him more in the future. Hope stupid falsehoods like this rumor wont affect him in the future.
