And laddering alone helps already, because the level of play is so much higher. Hmm is it though? Even if it is, he already spent a whole week in order to reach GM meaning he will only have 1 week of korean GM ladder... Well I guess we'll see if he has improved in future tournaments. Edit : ok he's only been there for 3-4 days but he has only 1 week left isn't he ?
No dont work like that Stephano has been playing GM players since day 2. His MMR decide which players he will play. Being in GM or rank 1 masters doesn't matter . And his play have improved just after 1 week

that terran on cloud kingdom was bestial.

According to Stephano himself, he already improved quite a lot. And he has still 7 days there.

stephano go back to europe in exactly a week, then MLG
he said he will go back to korea in november but cleverly avoid answering wuestions about gsl, but i believe we know the answer already :D

Stephano on chat before stream went off

He won IPL3 didn't he? Doesn't that give him a free pass or something?

They need to invite him to IPL5......

IPL held qualifiers for IPL5, but they were on at the same time as MLG Arena and were few top players participated. It will be another tournament of very strong Koreans and mediocre foreign players. It's hard to understand what the poeple at IPL are thinking, do they not want the best and most popular players participating at their event?

does seem stupid to not invite one of (if not the) top foreigner but then again IP@l have been pretty stupid as of late

So that's the trick to getting into GM in KR, lol. For a while, I was certain Stephano was going to set an all time WR for most points in a masters league.

ipl is retarded, thats the facts , i used to be a huge fan of ipl but they seem to get worst and out of touch as time moves on. Nobody over there knows exactly what they are doing. I found ipl season 3 to be there best, There season 4 went down hill a lot, and now 5? it looking terrible. They should have atleast rescheduled some of the qualifiers to get some of the players that were busy with mlg. Ipl 5 is shaping up to be another ipl 4. Nothing but korean domination with k-pop.
Maybe the World Championship team from GSL will save it. At this moment MLG and NASL are the best tournaments for me to watch.

everyone bitchs about having 2 tournaments at once, and waht does IPL do? make the people least used to palying multiple tournaments play 2 tournaments at once

Damn it IPL ... tournaments without Stephano are the absolute meh Korean roflstompage. Their stupid decisions are taking away 2 major tournaments for us both IPL5 and GSL.

That´s actually a good point one of the tournament will overshadow the other. I don't mind IPL. I liked IPL 3 and 4 however I just cant understand why they chose to make the EU qualifier in the middle of MLG arena. IPL should have known better. Ok, For Stephano is not that big of a deal since he play so many tournaments and properly could need a break now and again.
BTW is Stephano streaming today?

IPL had stupidly timed qualifiers for IPL5. The North American qualifiers clashed with NASL3 (and also Canadian WCS) and the European qualifiers clashed with MLG Summer Arena (which had quite a few Europeans) and also WCS Ukraine and Russia. I don't understand why they didn't have qualifiers in midweek instead of at weekends.
It seems nonsensical to me that IGN would make such a bad business decision. No Canadians, no Stephano, no Ukrainians or Russians. The issue is not that Huk, Scarlett, Stephano, Kas, White-Ra, Dimaga, Beasty etc won't be there, but that they could not even try and qualify for IPL5 due to tournament clashes. IPL faces increased competition for attention, viewers, players etc and this scheduling issue punishes everyone but mostly IPL. So all the most popular foreign players will not be at IPL5 - Stephano, White-Ra, Huk, Naniwa, Thorzain, Mana, Dimaga, Kas, Scarlett, Idra. Not a single one will be there. I fail to see how that is a good development for IPL.

Yea, its been a mess. I don't know for a fact but it feels like the money train from IGN is not coming as fast as it used to do. Remember IPL 3 huge production quality. IPL 4 not so much. I think IGN has realised its a bit hard to compete and is slowly pulling out. We will see it just feels to amateurish atm

IGN just seemed stubborn and stupid. WCS competitions were announced and clashed with previously announced dates of IPL5 qualifiers. Instead of IGN changing their schedule in order to ensure IPL5 was as big a draw as possible, they stamped their feet and said we announced our dates first and so will not change. Of course players are going to always choose to play in a tournament for big prize-money rather than in qualifiers, which only offers the possibility of participation in a tournament for big prize-money (especially when the actual date of IPL5 itself was unknown and so players could never be certain they would be able to even attend).
Changing the qualifiers to midweek would have been perfectly feasible for IGN, considering the qualifiers are online. It worked for TSL 4. I know the tournament schedule is getting very congested but flexibility rather than pride would have been the right course for IGN with respect to these qualifiers. I cannot understand the business reasoning behind their inflexibility in amending their schedule.
