The plan was to destroyed the hatch, and come back to instantly destroy the pool (without being annoyed by broodlings). It didn't work so well.

And i will argue that his macro is one of the best, if not the best. He always has units out right in time to defend timing pushes, that is called macro, being able to build drones only until he needs units to defend an attack. Just building drones and then dying to some random pressure is NOT macro, its being greedy and dying to random shit. He almost always has more macro hatches and spinecrawlers than other zerg, while others will float those 1k minerals. Especially the muta ling bling players always float huge amount of minerals because they just refuse to get macro hatches and spinecrawlers. Stephano gets those macro hatches and spinecrawlers even if he goes muta ling bane, and just looks more safe against random pressure because of that. That very good strat stuff is bullshit and you clearly quote that from idra. Sorry to be the first one, but idra is once again wrong about a players skill (he was calling nestea bad back when he just won season 2, we know how that turned out). If he doesnt know the players well, he always calls them bad, no matter how they play, and refers to their gimicky play. I like watching idra´s stream because he is a good player, but its apparent from his commentary that he doesnt respect anyone´s play unless that one is famous already and has won several major tournaments. Thats not how you measure someone´s skill, otherwise idra would be bottom tier in sc2, considering he hasnt won anything major, even though he is one of the best foreigners. Its just hard to win major tournaments in sc2 back to back because of all the coin flip builds and build order losses in the early game, unless you are that much better than anyone else (which mvp and nestea were for a long time, others are catching up though). Even considering all this, stephano managed to take major tournaments vs koreans already, and looking at his play, he doesnt look like a one trick pony at all. He plays reactionary and is not dependent on a single gimicky strat to win him games. I am not an idra fanboy lol. I don't speak on behalf of idra. I like stephano better than idra, i am a zerg fanboy. NSHS seal has better creep spread than stephano and so does morrow as previously stated. I would like to remind you that stephano makes a ton of macro hatches because his aggressive style calls for tier 1 and 2 units which when his economy is at his peak (3.5 - 5 base) he is still streaming in a million roaches and lings whereas other players tech up a lot fast to broodlords and infestors and ultras. They don't need the extra larva because they are not using it on those food heavy units. Also they can bank up minerals because with the tier 2 - 3 units the battles will come out more evenly and then they can re-max only once or twice and overrun their opponents. Stephano needs all that larva because he will re-max over and over and over again to overrun and overpower his opponent. This style is fucking awesome to watch but is still a style choice and requires its own style of macro which stephano does very well.

It's not like he will revolutionize sc2 in less than a year, specially with an 'i'm quitting soon' mindset. Let's hope he reconsiders... Same here ![]() Lost any desire to cheer for him :/ He is probably the most talented sc player...
