You have obviously only gotten half the story correct in regards to Byun vs Idra, but hey, whatever floats your boat.

plz corrent me if i am wrong.
all i knew is that byun had like 800 viewers on his stream and then he crossed with idra a few times on ladder and idra BM'd him, then byuns viewer number doubled and byun started to snipe him to get more viewers and make fun of him
example: http://i.imgur.com/SNAhitN.jpg
byun was like 11 win 1 loss and idra evantually stopped streaming because he faced him all the time.

Do you really think Byun would have done that if Idra acted normal towards him? Before Byun started his project EZidra, Idra was calling Byun and the rest of the Prime-guys (Idra didn't have the best encounters with MKP during the beta neither...) for gay, crap, shit, losers, dicks and what not.

Byun must be allowed to fuck back then, even if he's a korean and Idra is Idra. Yes, so he humiliated Idra, so what? It's not optimal in any way, but you can't say Idra didn't ask for it.

It's a suckish world when people tries to stand up for themselves.

i completly agree with that, idra deserved it and i guess the other half i missed from the story is that he asked for it really hard, but comparing byuns way of punishing idra for his BM, to demuslim stream sniping him once, byun was alot more brutal and hard then demu and demu got alot more shit than byun on his own fanclub

but noone cares about byun since he has a muuuch smaller fanbase than demuslim's and few byun fans are also idra fans and vice versa whereas the same is not true for demuslim

Well, if that is the case, the sniping itself was clearly never the problem to those people.

I mean, if someone really has a problem with people stream sniping Idra, how known Byun is shouldn't matter at all, and neither should the fact that some of Idra's fans like both players. "Oh, that guy with lots of followers sniped my favourite player once, what a horrible thing to do! There's also that unknown guy whom I kind of like who did it for three days in a row but meh, who cares."

If someone is ok with what Byun did but horrified by what Demuslim did, the problem doesn't lie with the actions of each player but somewhere else entirely.

Great tweet from EG in regards to the Gamespot interview

The interview: http://www.gamespot.com/news/blizzard-and-mlg-respond-to-wcs-na-qualifier-concerns-6407510
Why was Evil Geniuses’ Benjamin “DeMusliM” Baker not invited to either the North America or European WCS? Additionally, was there any discussion of disqualifying DeMusliM due to his revealing tweets of results at the end of the tournament?

Blizzard, MLG, and ESL jointly analyzed 2012 global performance results to determine invites for the WCS Season 1 Premier League in America and Europe. In the end, DeMusliM didn't perform well enough in 2012 competitions to receive a seed. He's been competing fantastically well on ladder and we hope to see him compete up through Challenger level and perhaps get to Premier League through that route. As for questions about a DQ, there was no discussion about disqualifying DeMusliM for anything he said on Twitter.

The tweet:

We believe that @DeMusliM's 2012 resume warranted a WCS NA invite http://imgur.com/03u7kD4

@EGiNcontroL @EvilGeniuses @MLGSundance It also misses the 2nd place WCG Europe.

but demuslim was not an NA player, so he would have had to go through the 8 non-NA spots i.e. competing against the likes of nestea, hero, polt, violet etc to get that spot

Well MLG decided on an arguably arbitrary definition of NA (citizenship vs residency - considering WCS is completely open this year, and you get a flight from the region you play in, Demuslim (and violet and polt) could easily have been considered as NA...), they also decided how many spots would go to NA vs non-NA.
Even then, I think he compares favorably to Moonglade, who was part of the non-NA invites.

Yah, I don't think there is any way that he deserved an invite as a non NA player. The only debatable player he could replace is Snute but Snute has won two decentely sized tournaments in the last few months and Demuslim has not so...

Fenix, Moonglade, Sen (recently), KilleR, Capoch.

Edit: Jusrt realised you meant the Americas as a whole when you said NA, in which case of course these do not all apply.

glade is the one i'll concede though (he did win WCS Oceania and 2nd at WCS AU though)

Fenix, Moonglade, Sen (recently), KilleR, Capoch.

Those are all either American or in a region which doesn't have their own WCS tournament. Demuslim was competing with the other players who wanted to switch regions.

Moonglade and Sen were considered non-NA, just like DeMusliM.

So being from a region without its own tournament grants you immunity to the ranking process for invites? I think I am missing something :S

Edit: Sorry all, clear on everything now except mOOnGLaDe.

Emzeeshady was incorrect. There was a group for people considered as from NA, a group for the others.
Sen and Moonglade were non-NA, just like DeMusliM, so they could be compared. The other you mentioned were in NA so comparing them to DeMusliM is meaningless.

Thanks, this is the conclusion I just arrived at. Still don't see how mOOnGLaDe's results are better than Demu's though!
