Worst argument i have ever heard. Yes casting is hard so what? this is a full time paid job and pretty much your whole career for this period of time and we should expect nothing less than the best.
@Strauss LAMO funny xD

Kelly is going to be an irreplaceable force of nature for the gsl in the future. :D She's definitely getting better everyday.

Ya she's got an accent. And ya, she's a woman. But I think the fact she's a woman is the more important reason so many people spring up to flame her. As much as the haters will deny it, I'm quite convinced that most Kelly bashers are genuinely uncomfortable with women in general..are lacking in the amount of companionships and or relationships they have with women. And this discomfort gets intensified when a woman "invades" the comfort zone so many guys feel knowing they're a member of the (ALMOST) exclusively male sector of cyberspace revolving around starcraft. Unfortunately for them, we're no longer in elementary school, and the Starcraft scene isn't a boys only club. If people were to acknowledge and accept those last 2 notions, I think Kelly haters would be almost non-existent. That's my 2 cents anyway.
Cleverly hidden troll post. Let me decipher:
"Whoever bashes Kelly must be gay/bad with girls!! Now there is no way you can win argument against me!!"
BTW: I'm not picking sides, I'm just picking on you because you made a dumb post.

There are a lot of people who know the game very well but who wants to hear a nerd talk? We have Day9 but he is cute, funny, and appealing to everyone. We have Tasteless who is handsome, has pretty decent game knowledge, and has a cool voice. Then we have Artosis who can work with Tasteless very well in terms of chemistry and can provide in depth knowledge of the game and make you think.
GOM is planning to make StarCraft II mainstream. Here is a list often seen on TV. Aesthetics - Check StarCraft Player - Check Good voice - Check If not, incredibly funny, Check Able to constantly talk - Check Does not sound like a nerd - Check Can have a side conversation - Check Can make a joke without using a meme - Check
Not a lot of people can get past all of these steps.

i think you can add rotterdam to her supporters list

Lolz. Obviously on a site like tl.net there are a whole bunch of nerds that think every asian girl is cute and will defend them no matter how unqualified they are for the job.

iragev2: "will really hate to see this trend locked due to some people's incessant need to flame Kelly." Hope we do not let it happen.

This isn't even a fan page. There's no memorabilia, pictures, links. It's just you trying to shove a caster down our throats.
Do Not Want.
"memorabilia" takes time to find, fanboy-ism needs space to grow... Should not post vs in a fan club thread.

If I was a mod I would just straight up ban all of you idiots that go into a fan club and talk shit about the star of the fan club. Or even come in here and argue about the stuff. What the hell? Seriously, what the hell are you thinking.

Sign me up! Keep up the good work Kelly!

I love Kelly. Great job so far in GSL.
Any chance of seeing her cast up and down matches?
|
I'm not her biggest fan, but I almost feel obliged to defend her because she gets so much hate. She's trying her best and she's clearing putting in the time to research the players and to play the game. That says a lot to me.
My one real concern with her is that she consistently harks on Zergs needing to be one base up. While this is true for the most part, there are plenty of scenarios that allow for a Zerg to stay even on bases (all-ins).
I hope she continues to put forth her best effort and ignores the baseless hate people give her.

Sign me up, I think she's awesome.
At first I couldn't really understand her when she got excited, but seems like she's worked on it. She shows a much better understanding of the game than so many other casters, and my favourite thing is she seems to be working at it.
I've noticed she always seems to have done her homework on the players and maps before the match. It's great. I can't say for sure whether she's working hard at it, but with the result I would be very surprised if she didn't. She's been involved with computer games and the gaming community for a while which is cool, they didn't just pull an airhead from a modelling agency or something.
It is also good that she's a girl. I want starcraft 2 to get bigger and reach a broader audience. And girl or not she's still a brilliant caster, I hope she stays with GOM for a long time.

Haters gonna hate. The fact of the matter is, casters are the face (sometimes literally) of the esports movement, and it's good to have a certain amount of diversity in which of our two left feet we put in the cookie jar's gift horse mouth.
In this sense, I believe that having a good female caster like Kelly is integral to the growth of sc2. It doesn't hurt that she's an excellent caster.

Sign me up as someone who thinks she's a decent caster who's improving, and I enjoy watching the GSl with her casting. A lot of the criticism she's recieved was disgusting, which is a pity because there was some legitimate and constructive stuff being put out there too.
Have to agree though that the OP for this is kind of embarrassing and hopefully we can move past it.
