I like the stream too, and I try watch it a lot. I would rather watch Cella play against good players though. I don't find eating/drinking, smurfing gold (or lower!) players, and playing/disconnecting from really laggy EU server games exciting or entertaining. When he does ladder or play customs against high level opponents I find it to be an excellent stream to watch.

When he does ladder or play customs against high level opponents I find it to be an excellent stream to watch. There are a lot of popular streams on the internet now where people play video games. Like, a potpourri of different video games for different platforms on the same stream. The streamers aren't "e-sports professionals" and they wouldn't pretend to be. There's probably no such thing as a pro Mega Man player anyway. They're just people who like to have fun. (Although I have a feeling that being lavished in attention is a large part of the fun.) In a day you might see the same person play a dozen different games, depending on who it is and what they are up to. Sometimes they will stream a game they like. Sometimes they will stream a game they hate. What keeps the whole thing going is the community aspect. Hundreds of people show up to watch and joke around with each other and the streamer. They often stick around and chat even when nothing is happening live. Once in a while I will watch a stream just for the level of play. That was the reason I liked watching Oystein. That and the fact that his stream always had the most tolerable music. But I don't even play SC2 and I really only have a passing interest in it. I like Cella's stream because every day something eminently quotable goes down. I'd probably watch him play Mega Man too. "WOODMAN. IS TREE? OK GO, SHOTS BEAM AND JUMP. JUMP! INSANE MICRO."

I just don't see what makes it any worse than having a scrolling banner going across the bottom of the screen trying to sell me zerg lessons.

Our policy is pretty clear on some issues and vague on others. It's never okay to ask for donations on TL. Ever. So that is very clear. The purpose of your stream should be providing entertainment first. You can ask for donations sometimes, but if the focus of your stream is begging people for money, then you're going to be shut down. Where is that line exactly? I don't know and I don't think any TL staff member knows until we see it. I don't watch streams too often these days as I've been very busy outside of work, so I can't comment on decemvre and response's streams. I would hope that they would realize they shouldn't be begging for donations and should just get jobs.
