When you ladder, you expect to be in a 1v1 with someone just as blind as you are with FOV. I think any type of cheating or maphack or even watching/hearing IdrA streaming while he is trying to inform people about the game is stupid. I hope this doesn't happen again because it doesn't take a genius to listen to what IdrA is saying or making and build a good timing around that.

I don't think anyone is arguing against that - it sucks that people kept watching whitera's stream while playing so he stopped talking about his special tactics during the game.

Erm, maybe because Idra said:
Q: Are you confident you can beat him? Do you expect him to do any risky strategies against you?
Yes, he's going to 4 gate all-in both games unless he decides to be clever and make voidrays or DTs.
Which made the series a lot more entertaining to watch, and started some bad blood between Idra and Cruncher. And because Idra is known for being easily pissed off? Cheating aside, to knowingly be able to piss off someone you know doesn't seem entertaining at all? Maybe I'm just a terrible, terrible person then.

Why does everyone keep creating theoretical situations? It's wrong. I said that like in my VERY FIRST actual post I made in this topic. I don't condone it. I was just commentating on the ridiculous response that came as a result of one ladder game. I'm pretty thankful for Idra commentating his games, it's pretty entertaining. But it's not like because I said "chill out guys it's not THAT big of a deal" everyone is going to start stream hacking. Although people kind of already are against the big names.
Edit - Combined posts - Sorry for double

anyways, my point is, for top and near top players the goal is to improve. you won't really find the people that play(and have a shot at winning) live tournaments maphacking or stream cheating, unless it's in an online tournament. the reason is, they want to actually spend their time trying to improve.
now maybe he is actually juvenile enough that there was some exception to this because it was idra he was playing. but I am not going to jump to that conclusion just because people say they saw him in idra's stream.
also, a question about justin.tv. to be listed under viewers in the chat, do you have to open the chat window? and if you are already signed in to your own justin.tv stream, do you have to sign into it again to participate in someone else's chat? travis, have you actually read the interview from cruncher? have you actually watched the stream of idra where cruncher BMs constantly? do you really think a person that mock'd this one specific person over and over would like to lose to that specific person? and yes, you can check to viewer list in chat. except that with this logic it could just as easily be idra watching cruncher's stream. I doubt cruncher cares *that* much about losing. it's probably more likely he just wants to piss off idra and his fans. yeah thats what i mean, except its fucked up to see someone go that low. that's same as cheating in ladder. this is one of the reason why cruncher has lots of haters, things he does is just pathetic. Not that I condone cheating, but you speak about ladder as if it was actually prestigious or something. Ladder games don't really matter, Cruncher probably just wanted to get a good laugh about it. It's not like Idra hasnt spoken bad about Cruncher to deserve this On May 06 2011 06:48 1Eris1 wrote:On May 06 2011 06:46 marvin. wrote:On May 06 2011 06:41 travis wrote: it's probably more likely he just wants to piss off idra and his fans. And Idra's never done that before, right? Err, players flaming eachother is okay, that stuff happens.. Looking at a stream of the oppenent your playing is both really pathetic but also cheating. Stuff like this gets you banned from tournaments Obviously it was wrong. But again, it's ladder - and come on, everyone knows how easily idra is pissed off. Do you think Cruncher really cheated to win, or cheated to get a good laugh? You're acting as if when I play football with my Sunday team I should be able to handball it whenever I choose because it's not the Premier League and I want "a good laugh". How is that the slightest bit funny? And if you did it once, yeah it wouldn't be that big of a deal. How is streamwatching Idra to precisly counter everything he does funny? Erm, maybe because Idra said: Q: Are you confident you can beat him? Do you expect him to do any risky strategies against you? Yes, he's going to 4 gate all-in both games unless he decides to be clever and make voidrays or DTs. Which made the series a lot more entertaining to watch, and started some bad blood between Idra and Cruncher. And because Idra is known for being easily pissed off? Cheating aside, to knowingly be able to piss off someone you know doesn't seem entertaining at all? Maybe I'm just a terrible, terrible person then. No you're attempting to justify cheating with horrible reasoning.
Err actually, I made my concessions where I think it was necessary and addressed what my opinion on the matter was. What sort of "reasoning" are you talking to? My "reasoning" that this isn't that big of a deal because it's ladder and it's one game? Someone actually brought up a decent point about sponsors and such. But really other than that it's just been "cheating is bad, no matter what." Or "why do you feel like cheating is okay for a laugh." Which actually if you've been reading my posts basically is just twisting my words.
