Of course that might not ever happen and thats assuming the game is competitive for that long (which I pray to god I hope so). But yeah I can see you being wrong about it not ever happening ^_^.

There is one case where the mechanic could become very important, If the game evolve (with extensions and new units, new micro tricks or more harass based gameplay ) and become an intensive micro game. Because you know that the macro will never be a mechanic issue for the top lvl, the skill cap is too low in this area of the game at pro lvl. Conclusion : We are far away from this state of the game, so i might be right for maybe 1 or 2 years

He clearly wasn't playing his best in the last game. What HuK did was utterly childish. On TL, doing something equivalent to this (taunting sombebody you just beat with fullcaps LOL) would spell insta ban. I'm really sad that HuK won this series, and really hope to see a rematch today, with IdrA powering through him ! :D

Since tl.net can bee seen as a quite good represantation of interested sc2 fans, it seems like a good indicator of how interesting he actually is. (Of course judging only by the views of his fanclub thread is overly simplified, but I still think it is a valuable indicator.) Fully@Topic: Go IdrA! Hope you still can win MLG. Down with the protoss! ![]()

If you get an advantage, how to you punish your opponent for it? flawless mechanics. and its not as if he just follows BO to a t and doesnt think. Hes smart and knows the game.

It's still a bit silly for Idra to leave without saying "gg" in g2, and then to have fans complaining about HuK's bad manner in g3 though! It's as if IdrA has a license to do these sort of things and you can't complain about them anymore. e: And yeah, IdrA should definitely complain about HuK's rulebreaking. He can easily attest to having been affected by HuK's comment in g3, making him lose focus and such. I think it's silly to disallow chat myself, but it is clearly stated in the rules, so it would be fair in that sense.

If you think HuK was childish, then you must think the same of IdrA, right? Come ON guys. IdrA is BM to people. People are BM to IdrA. Do you really think IdrA gets all pissy when someone BM's him? Of course not, so why should we?

He seems like the most fragile player in the world and so easy to upset, for a "BM King" when the reverse happens he seems to buckle down under pressure and lose it. I hope iNcontrol or someone at EG grabs him and simply lays it down on him. If you truly want this guy to become the best he needs to desperatly improve his mentality, which seems made of glass at this point.

We also need to stop letting all the psychologists into this thread. I didn't know we had that many people who knew so much about how to observe someones mental state from reactions within a game. Hope idra can continue on and do really well in the rest of the tournament. good luck to him.

I didn't say mechanics are not part of the game or he isn't smart. Obviously Idra is a great player no doubt about that. But at pro lvl, everybody has great mechanics (in sc2) and game sens. But in sc2 with the actual state of the game you cannot think i'm gonna beat X top player player with my flawless mechanics, it's just completely wrong, the game has not a huge skill ceiling, so you have to find other ways to win against top players and not just ima outmacro him or outmultitask him, etc. It could be true with a game with huge skill cap like bw, but not in sc2. So i think if Idra wants to become the top of the top he has to more analyse the players he faces, identify their style and weakness and prepare for it and not just think he can beat them with pure skill, game sens, etc. he has to change his mindset. my 2 cents
