Goatlust actually asked about IdrA vs aLive. Greg's answer was pretty short I guess. He though he has his best chances on the two first maps and he lost them both to risky/cheesy stuff. He knew he couldn't win the series so he decided to get it over with. (Not super satisfying I know). He said there were extenuating circumstances to his showmatch vs Taeja but did not mention what those were. He said he mostly plays showmatches for the money and the fans (kind of a contradiction here). He doesn't find them prestigious like tournaments. They don't seem to mean much to him. He is also the one that forfeited the money (he wasn't asked to) - so he knows he did something wrong. He mentioned that he was coming back to the US for Winter Arena and that he would be staying in the US/Western world for a couple of months.

- he generally refuses to play showmatches below $500 because of the random player factor and the low return for him - he declined comments on the Taeja match, citing extenuating circumstances - vs Alive he said the following: "he's a legitimately good player and he was willing to play very risky", and that he 6pooled in the remaining games because he didn't care about the rest of the matches, implying that he wanted to play macro games on the first two maps and got disappointed. EDIT: also see above for some additional info

@Mycl: He did not comment on IPL4, but the two online qualifiers are on the 11th and 18th respectively, so he will still be in Korea at that time. There are on-site qualifiers though, so either he has an invite or he is looking to qualify there.

I have noticed he has not tried to qualify so far so has he already received an invite, might get one in the future or is just planning to compete in the open bracket? Well they still have one online qualifier left and since IdrA finished in the won IPL1, finished in the top 8 of IPL3 and is a huge viewer draw he stands a pretty good chance of being invited anyway.

Since the three winners of IPL events, IdrA, White-Ra and Stephano, auto-qualify for IPL4, the additional invites from the regional qualifiers include MarineKing from his PPSL victory and TAiLS from his second place at i44. http://www.ign.com/ipl/starcraft-2/news/ipl-4-regional-qualifier-recap/ Figures re his views on showmatches, they're sadly hardly ever good. Annoyed that his triumphant return to western shores will be during MLG's PPV though, but here's to hoping he does well.

I was not sure if he was guaranteed a seed when Stephano competed in the IPL UK

Sure IdrA ruined it for people, that's apparent. But what is not apparent, apparently, is that aLive didn't ruin anything - judged by the amount of(or lack of) flack he got. Bottom line is, they both did their best to dishonor the point of a show match which is to entertain the audience, yet only one of them gets heat. It's aLive's fault as well for being a complete asshole and all-ining just because he's too insecure to play IdrA straight up, to have that higher chance at the money. But that's not what a show match is about. aLive clearly proved with his play that he does not care a whit about the funs. Had IdrA played the last 2 games straight up in his macro style instead of 6 pooling, he would have simply been all-inned or cheesed again and again, and nobody would protest against aLive. It's disgusting. I hate it.
