EDIT: Anyways, I'm not really disappointed in IdrA at all, he lost 2-0 to Leenock, but Leenock was on fire anyways. As for the MC games, well, Idra will probably never beat MC after those games at that one MLG (Name escapes me). But it's still an epic rivalry.
I'm pretty sure that I remember iNcontroL saying something on a show about a Team EG policy that forced them to play consolation matches. Anyway, if the team didn't make him do them, fuck it, it's just for placing and it's the end of the MLG season so it can't affect him negatively.

I personally think its no big deal to skip the placement match. Though a good point to it is that people have been paying money to go to MLG, some also flight and hotells etc. If they like Idra, perhaps they wanted to see that game vs Haypro.
Also sponsors have to be considered. Afterall, the fans and the sponsors is what makes esport, and without them idra would not be playing sc2 as his job, making good money out of it. Looking at it from that perspective, skipping games because you dont think they matter is somewhat negative towards the people who paid to see sc2 games and also the sponsors who pay Idra to be an ambassador for them in the esport scen.

Your skipping games for people who pay to see is invalid point ? He would of been playing a game in the middle of the floor whilst the Winners Semi finals were going on? It was not a very interesting game, and i think only once has idra ever played a ranking match, and that was first MLG of this season, since then hasn't played any.
But we seriously should strop bringing this up in here xD who cares whether he finished 7th or 8th, he didn't win it, he lost to the over all winner and to MC on 2 awful maps and FFF abuse from 4 sentrys T.T

Group M
IdrA Kas Bly Jimpo
The first group stage is going to be easier than the second one though.
Also, MC isn't going for some reason :/

If IdrA plays as solid has he has lately, then he has a good chance at this tournament, since MC won't be around :D Just hope he doesn't underestimate the players.

Only one I see posing the slightest threat in that group is Kas.

Idra lost to kas 2 times recently I think

kas has stage fright, at least a bit. thats why, so kas said, he lost against ret at battle in berlin. and dreamhack is even bigger, so his fright might be bigger too, so he plays shittier and greg/idra wins ezpz

I think last time they played it was a clan war against Empire. IdrA won quite conviningly.

sad to see idra mentally drained at mlg yesterday hope he goes back to the good version
|
i wouldnt say losing to MC and the guy who won the tournament is anything to be ashamed of. Of all opponents MC seems to be the toughest for idra so still a stunning performance versus puma. Hardly a "bad version"
And against Empire idra won 2-1 then lost the ace match 2-3.
Still i favor idra if idra opts to play with the assumption his opponent will do something cheesy or all in'ish cause even if they dont, idras macro ability will bring him back ahead anyways

Actually: have there been any interviews with IdrA after the event so far?

in the last 3 series they played, idra won 1, in the first one kas won a huge macro game. in the last series they played idra won a big macro game on a zerg favored version of tal'darim, left the game after a fail all-in attempt, and lost 2 times to dual reactor helions (into expand, it wasn't all-in or anything). in the last game idra had like 6 zerglings at 8-9 minutes and one spine vs 10 helions.

Why and how do you have this picture? Do you really think that Idra wants his personal business everywhere?
