I think what he mentioned in the interview is the key to his recent form.Usually he is very confident but now he thought that he was going out. This is something very common in all professional sports, and I think this is something that has been bad for Idra's performances.
Obvsiously, he is still aware of the fact that he is one of the best players in the world at the moment but at the same time he is questioning his gameplan much more. It doesn't matter whether Zerg is inferior to the other races and this is the reason why he is doing it or whether it is something else. What's important is that for whatever reason he does - and it's proving to be a good thing.

It's funny when you know that there will still be haters out there saying IdrA is bad, when he 3-0'd one of the toughest groups in the Ro16(I put it second only to group D, 3 guys in the finals of previous GSLs, one champion and Jinro? Yuck)
I loved how Artosis explained what he thought Clide might do to him, and was 100% correct and countered it BEAUTIFULLY. What Clide did, + Show Spoiler + is not THAT common of a build, but he knew it was coming anyway.
Good luck in the Ro8, hopefully MC gets first and Jinro second tomorrow, would be nice to see you play Jinro in a Bo3, hopefully without Jungle Basin!
