In other news, Bitterdam just told the story of Idra losing the "Sick Nerd Baller" competition at IEM Guanghzousmething by 6 (six) votes and how his response was "So much for my 1200-pages strong fanclub". Shame on you guys for not voting.

Didn't Rotterdam only say that that was just what he thinks IdrA must have thought when he saw he lost by such a small amount?

He lost because everyone voted before the semi-finals, they didnt think idra had a chance, i mean most of us would vote for him anyway but others didnt.

I tried to vote! It didn't let me!!! Nooooooo!!!!!!!!

I wasn't aware of the poll's existence. He would have gotten my vote though, obviously.

The mods at wikipedia have grown into an elitist, childish bunch who think themselves Gods and see outside influence as "meatpuppets". If you attract the attention of the wrong one, he might make it his personal mission to keep your article off the site for whatever reason, and they usually end up winning.

Disappointed Idra and Huk didn't qualify for Blizzcon. They are the true representatives of NA imo, not taking any credit away from Sheth and Select. But Idra and Huk are becoming the face of Stacraft esports in NA. And i honestly believe Idra can become to starcraft 2 what Boxer was for Broodwar back in the day, he just has to win a GSL

Basically.
The only games we saw were him squeeking by in group stages after losing to Elfi and Jinro, then him winning a ZvZ against Revival.
We didn't see the epic comeback against Elfi in the finals or the Puma games before the vote was done.

Don't discount everything he has done for the game thus far. I think IdrA is the #1 reason eSports and Starcraft2 in general have accelerated their growth pattern over the last year. IdrA fans are a bit different then other people who (in my opinion) are focused on a Win/Loss column, or who people have beaten recently and whom people haven't beaten. IdrA is little less than an icon, not only for North American Starcraft 2, but the sport in general. If IdrA is at any event, any game he plays in will likely garner more views than any other player, that in and of itself is an accomplishment. Hell, the only reason I play Zerg is because of IdrA, possibly the only reason I'm interested in the Starcraft 2 scene is because of IdrA, and I don't really care if I'm killing eSports if I stop watching or following a tournament in which IdrA is not participating in (or has been eliminated.) That's simply the nature of consumerism when it comes to any sport, and as this game escalates to a level at which it can be consumed and will be watched by the general public, IdrA will be at the forefront of that movement.
(Please note that I don't want to discount what other Starcraft 2 community figures have done in growing the sport, notably SlayerSBoxer, HuK, Day[9], and many others, my point here is that IdrA is simply the main reason for Starcraft 2's ascension to the top of the eSports scene and likely will be the main driving force in allowing it to go mainstream)

i dont think so at all
i think everything he said fact-wise, was correct. Idra does undisputedly garner the most views of any player(streams and threads) and his fans are diehard and stick with him for the most part through the good and the bad times. one month from now, The Stephano bandwagon will end, and he will be sitting next to Nerchio (remember how he was the next big zerg thing but noone talks about him anymore) but Idra popularity will never die.
he summed up my thoughts (and many. many others) perfectly, i do the same thing for the most part.

idra is actually the only reason anything exists at all.
