Damn that was an epic run! If only he had taken MC - MC did really not deserve that stuff after IdrA had played so many matches on stage, he really deserved to end it by winning it! Ah man, at least I suppose he got some rest finally... except for all the bitches surrounding the gracken! :D The Gracken has been released!!

I'm really happy with his run, and his set against Bomber was amazing, but if he had a more developed ZvP, he would have had a great shot at actually winning MLG. His set against MC was close. It could have went either way, but his ZvP shown was very underwhelming, especially compared to his Bomber games. Sure, he was most likely very tired/stressed out after playing nonstop, but we all know his ZvP isn't a strong matchup of his. So suppose he had a relatively allright ZvP. He would have beaten MC in that set. He would have faced StC. He could very well lose it due to tricky plays, but he also has a very good shot at taking out Stc, and suddenly he would have been playing Huk in the grand finals. With a solid ZvP, an MLG win won't seem like such a far-off possibility.

When you win pool play, you get into the winner bracket (while all the rest are in looser bracket), you only need a limited number of games to win the actual tournament (basically only two best of 3 to be in the final... look at HuK's run... compare it to IdrA's...) and you get a huge advantage on almost every one with extended series. So it's unfair because the players who win a lot of game in their groups get an advantage? You prefer the IPL format where the groups don't matter at all? Or the IEM format where some of the top players cna be eliminated on Day 1? MLG's format is great. Yes, it wasn't cool that he had to play 13 games in a roll on stage but in any other tournament he would have been eliminated at this stage after losing a bo3 vs MKP and a bo3 vs Boxer. MLG should improve their scheduling, yes, but if it wasn't for all the whiniers who kept complaining about downtime and IPL being so awesome for showing that top 10 video about 50 times over the course of the weekend, MLG would have probably given Idra a break. On October 17 2011 14:09 schimmetje wrote: The context when he made that remark was completely different though. That was him speaking from a US-base. If I'm not mistaken he did recently say that when he returned to Korea he'd take GSL seriously as well and the only way to get into Code S without an MLG spot is Code A. Not that I doubt he could qualify for that on his own, as he was one of the few to always do without breaking much of a sweat and he's playing damn good. Still, why take the risk? Yeeah.. or not, this is EG after all. They like to do the stupid hype thing. You'd think two of their players doing amazing at a pretty stacked tournament'd be enough, but nooo.. ^^ On October 17 2011 13:31 LeKiNGG wrote: So whats this annoucement all about !! http://notover.myeg.net/ Just posted this in the announcement thread: Uh, guys.... It's blatantly obvious, isn't it? There are 25 stars on this map, one of which is Hydra - and a lot of people think that this is where Idra's name comes from. There are also 25 players on EG at the moment (9 for SC, 5 for CS, 2 for Quake, 5 for Street Fighter, 4 for WoW). It's going to be something about content about their players, not training houses and stuff.

Because IdrA is #1 seed , he'll be seeded directly into the Winners Championship bracket Ro8. So basically, he starts so far in he could win it all after winning 4 Bo3's. (or BoWhatevers, not 100% sure if they go higher in providence) But then again every Bo3 is against people of MC callibur or better, so it won't be a walk in the park. ^^ Not Ro8 but Round 4. Idra has top 12 guaranteed, not top 8. Same for Huk, Naniwa and MMA. http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/2011_MLG_Pro_Circuit/Rankings

he dropped at the worse place possible. in a tight stop between forges :O. it was like dropping into a forcefield ring :O. If he had dropped over his army ala bane bombs the game was over right there as he had a huge army advantage. And before the first collosus came out he could have killed MC's third gatewas blocking the ramp to the north. And the third game was very difficult, but MC's fourth was quite ninja, and idra had already destroyed that rocks, so it could have been taken town with just a quick poke.

Idra has explained how he came up with his nickname numerous times before and hydras have nothing to do with it; that's not what I meant. I was trying to point out that each star will resemble one of EG's players.

Also too consider the fact that his whole Sleep schedule must have a been a bit derpy. IdrA you are truly a great player, and i always believed you could have been back ![]() This MLG was again proof that the future is bright!

i was pretty bummed at the loss to MC. it seemed like in all 3 games idra was ahead (or even when he fell behind in game 3 he brought it back to even or slightly ahead). so so so close to an MLG win.

To be honest, I'm almost as pleased with a HuK win as I would have been with an IdrA win and as an SC2 fan this works out better for me because MC is back in Code S. Let's hope he stays there. As an IdrA fan though I was really pulling for him but I'm pleased with the overall tournament anyway. Plus, two EG in the top 4 (and two oGs!) is really awesome.

And yes I realize you can call it Round 4 too. No reason to point out there's a second name for it, I wasn't exactly wrong.
