because the company isnt going to force her into a concept she doesnt like. shes a big enough star now to be able to say what she wants and what she doesnt want.
This right here, I'm pretty sure Cube would want to keep Hyuna, and she can easily leave them and get another company. She may not call the shots, but she does agree to it. What are they gonna do if Hyuna says no and they keep trying to force her to do something she doesn't want? It would be a great loss for Cube to lose Hyuna, so they want to have her say on things to.
1 question: How long is Hyuna still contracted to Cube? That's the only variable in the matter.
She hasnt done anything solo for ~1 year. So if she refuses to do concept X she will be removed from KPOP for 1+remainder of her contract. Because contracts are contracts and Hyuna cant get out of them. She will be ignored (by Cube) if she doesnt obey. Then after 1+remainder of contract years you will have a Hyuna on the market who is known for not wanting to do sexy concepts. What other concepts is Hyuna known for? Now think again what companies would pick her up. Yes, she would be picked up. But not by anything big.
A Hyuna who is known for refusing sexy concepts and who hasnt been in Korean media for 1+remainder of contract years is a worthless Hyuna.

I didn't think of that, that's quite a good point actually, well said.
I'm not too familiar with the korean pop industry so I had a question. After listening to Roy Kim and reading about how he will be leaving to go to school in the US for now, how quickly will his popularity fade? If he came back to the kpop scene in a few years (1-2) would he still receive attention? Or is he throwing away his music career?

He will probably be fine as long as he releases the odd single or OST
he sang this for reply 1994's ost, it was released a week ago and it's doing really well
Of course if he doesn't do anything in the music scene in that time his popularity will probably fade quite a bit like most male solo artists after their mandatory military service.
Well people like Se7en or the wondergirls lost almost all their popularity while completely disappearing out of korea and trying to advance into America for over a year.
Doubt a guy like Roy Kim would be popular again if he returns after 3 years unless he would score a hitsong. He's mostly living from the hype of his casting show tbh.
Roy Kim isn't an idol so his situation is a bit different. Korea really eats up the kind of music he makes at the moment, though there is no telling if that will still be the trend when he comes back. His plagiarism stuff doesn't help him either but whenever he does come back I don't think that will make any difference.
Jaejoong's album is really nice, I am really liking 9+1#, 그랬지, and Paradise. Along with Butterfly of course.
I'm a little late but the monday kiz album is fucking good. And I haven't been following IS2 for awhile but I was looking up songs on my phone while I was trying to sleep and this guys voice is just awesome.
This hyuna song is pretty nice (at least i think, checked it out because it ft.flowisk and he was in one of my favourite jaejoong songs: kiss B) + Show Spoiler +
