I can't believe I genuinely used to like this group's songs. Holy shit this "I Got a Boy" song is so garbage.
Yuri lookin fine tho, and Taengoo is still Taengoo.
I guess first time you hear it it sounds like shit, but I can say that after a few listens and listening to the MU I got a boy versions etc (bit shorter than the official MV) it actually becomes quite decent.
They were trying out something and failed (even said by their own members), but hey, gotta experiment sometimes.

Makes you wonder why Suju has been keeping silent all these years lol

Na but like Zeru said they implied it and I think it was Yuri who was the one who said she was really unhappy with the song. Actually I think quire a few of the girls were quite unhappy with this song. They also kept mentioning how worried they were about their comeback in regards to this song etc so guess the hidden meaning behind those comments is that they knew themselves the song wasn't one of their best.
Though I do also remember another boy group mentioning that if anyone has the ability to try out new types of songs, it's SNSD. So I guess it's why SM tried that type of styled song.

I personally think GLAM members are lesbians, just look at the lyrics for Party (XXO).
Uhh, okay? If I somehow hurt your feelings or something, I do apologize, but you do know the truth hurts, right? You can't sit there in your chair and tell me SNSD themselves thought the song was AMAZING and was going to break records. I like the think I'm a pretty dedicated SNSD fan, but at the same time I'm not going to sit here disillusioned by my affection for these girls in thinking that song was straight up amazing.

Wait what? My feelings are supposed to be hurt right now? Please find me the part in my post where I said anything about IGAB.
I'm fairly certain the only thing I was doing was criticizing your claims. Seems like you didn't really like me doing that, trying to implicitly call me a disillusioned fan that thought the song was amazing. But I guess it's better than the random bullshit and and claims about "hidden meanings".
I do find it amusing that everybody's go to argument no matter what the topic at hand is, is always "you just some disillusioned sone".

Why do you have to start this shitstorm after it'd died down? People will like certain music no matter how bad it sounds to your ears. There's always gunna be a group that loves super death metal screamo stuff; nothing you can say that's going to change their minds.

Sephyr, It would be cool if you could post some sources since you're being kind of vague here, and yeah I definitely don't remember Yuri saying she was unhappy with the song. Most of the comments that they made were things about how they were nervous to try out a new style, or about how that they thought the song was strange on the first listen through but grew used to it. I'm like pretty much positive that nobody said that the song/promotion was a failure or that they didn't like it. And just because they're worried doesn't mean they thought the song was going to do poorly. They hadn't released anything in Korea in over a year, and were going to do something unlike anything they've ever done in their career. Being Nervous would make sense. But yeah, sources please. I'm curious.

So your sole evidence that they themselves think their song was terrible was because they said on interviews that they were worried and hoped their new song did well? Uhh, pretty sure EVERY artist says in comeback interviews that they're worried and hope their comeback song does well. Go ahead and link me an interview where an artist (preferably multiple different artists, sample size and all that jazz) says "our new song is gonna own the shit out of every other song out there, gtfo" and you might have a point.
And I might as well add this last point before you discover the "hidden meaning" in my post, I didn't say they believed anything, I'm just refuting your ridiculous extrapolations based on ambiguous evidence.
Well it seems like this is a proper time to become unbanned.
Sephyr and Zeru, you are literally just making things up. SNSD members never said they didn't like the song, or they hated it, or they thought it would fail, or any of the other stupid comments you made that people like dystopia just blindly believe because it matches their pre-conceived dislike for something.
Some of the members said when they first heard the song they were taken aback, but after listening to it more and getting into it they saw how good it was. They were nervous about the comeback because they themselves said it was a risky song to come back with something in a different style. Other members loved it from the start because they love that style to begin with.
And before you get all pissy about sones being butthurt or whatever else, I defend things like this because you are literally spreading lies, and gullible people believe it. I feel the need to correct errors when it comes to SNSD, especially when you are putting words in their mouths.
Gotta love the trollbait bringing IGAB up out of the blue though. Good job.

don't bother, he genuinely likes igab. after a couple listens ofc.
also the actual quote was from seohyun, who implied that allsome of the members werent feeling the song but liked it after a lot of playthroughs.
“It was our first time trying this genre, and the tempo changes all seemed unfamiliar. I couldn’t tell where things were in the composition. It isn’t a hook song that quickly catches people’s ears, so I think it was more [strange]. But once you hear our song and scratch the surface and keep listening to it, you will discover fun elements to the song. The members also began to like it more after listening to it not once, but 100 times.”

To be fair. It's pretty common for people to disillusion themselves with accepting their poor performance. (something I noticed after midterms/finals every quarter)
People are going to like different things; the only issue I really have with those who are in support of IGAB is I don't really see any discussion as to why they like it; other than "oh it's different", and "X member looks great".
