Watching old SNSD videos makes me
They used to be so good. Now they're just trash.

Well, I'm still pretty sure that the thumbnail I saw before was from the genie mv, but it might be from the preview thingy they show before the perf, whatever. Their stuff after that up until RDR was okay, with the exception of Oh. After that, it's as if they tried to incorporate too much fucking other shit into their songs and it became total fuckin trash. That style != SNSD, and it hurts to see. With SNSD, I want to see a good mix of vocals and something catchy that fits their vocals. Fitting their vocals means that high uptempo beats and darker club style songs just don't work for them, as none of them have the voice to pull it off. None of them have the ability to go into the lower registers to make T-ara type songs sound good, which is what they've been pulling out as of late. If I wanted heavy beats and fuckin autotuned shit, I'd go and listen to T-ara, not SNSD.

Plus half of them got uglier looking as time went on, that video just reminded me of it.
edit- You added your voices+club beats = bad stuff in while I was posting this, don't know if I would agree with that (I don't think many of their title tracks would have sounded good with the "right" voices) but I agree with the general gist of your statement.

What other girl groups have good full albums? Absolutely none of them except for T-ara's Absolute First.
|
It was less that I had another good one in my mind and more that I wasn't prepared to back that statement.
Now that I think about it...you might be right. I liked A Pink's full album but I'd have to give that a few years and go back to it to see if I still feel the same way...
and now that I think about it most albums are like half filler
and I might pick Absolute First over that anyway

KARA - The First Blooming Davichi - Amaranth (although wouldn't really define them as a group) Any SeeYa album (but the question remains too like above) Wonder Girls - Wonder Years Any Fin.K.L/SES shit.
Note though that's stretching over a decade. If you were to comment on any album post Absolute First era, it's impossible to put a stake to it (mainly because a. music has been more trashier and b. companies opting to go for the EP route rather than LP releases).

I think first bloomings non-title tracks are pretty good but I can't stand break it or if u wanna which downgrades it in my book
and when considering music I don't think that a group like Davichi and SNSD are really comparable

In terms of style, Absolute First was insanely well done. Almost every track had insane background beats and a touch of autotune, essentially creating this style that T-ara's stuck with to this date. SNSD's first album basically had really the same thing going, with lots of light instrumentals that meshed well with their light vocals.
Every other album I've listened to had random shit all over the place and the musical style just wasn't present. Was like a bit of rap, bit of good vocals, cutesy shit along with heavy techno stuff. No good.
I don't count Davichi/SeeYa, even though I enjoy their songs. Wonder Years is ehh with a lotta non-title tracks being really subpar, and Kara's First Blooming was aight, but no Sunghee = Kara's bad. Having no one who can actually sing in your group hurts a lot.
Even if you talk EPs, anything after a few years ago has been pretty trash to the point that you rarely find 2-3 songs on the same "album" that are decent.

dont forget une annee from apink, it has like 1 title that i dont like (the intro lol)
snsd is like metallica, just in a smaller spectrum. it just got worse looking at it from a music perspective. Its pretty nonexistant thou that any group has only good songs (and thats always debatable as taste differs, one mans treasure...etc)
|
I think calling SNSD's later stuff complete trash is pulling it a bit too far.. Yeah it's not Into The New World quality.. but some songs are good, especially their japanese ballads. But seeing stuff like The Boys etc is kinda sad I agree.

I'd have to disagree with this. Even if albums aren't only good songs anymore I can often find more than 2-3 songs that I kinda like from the same album, even as recent as The SeeYa album. or the new Ailee album, the new Son dambi album or why not the miss A independent women part3 album. Many more examples can easily be made.
I just think SNSD aren't the same people they were back then, I think their personality just changed. Now they feel like "it girls" and not young girls who wants success badly. This is easily noticeable by all the Tiffany pics posted here, always looking so fashionable with her dumb gadgets and shit in hand out shopping.

I will never understand the obsession with une anne. In extension, I will also never understand the love for wonder girls, but the latter may just be personal taste.
anyways, seven springs was the better album by far. Their sophomore effort was boring as hell by comparison. perhaps the industry was simply too saturated by cutesy releases, but nothing at all stuck out about that album. just another album wallowing in its own aegyo-ey mediocrity that every other group has the ability to produce.
also agree that past their debut albums, snsd and Kara have ranged from garbage to mediocre. catchy, sure, but trash nonetheless.
on a completely unrelated tangent I've liked every ccm-produced release except yayaya and whatever the coed one was.

Une Annee was extremely bland and forgettable. Poopypoo only good song.

Are you forgetting about Snow Pink or am I really tired and not accurately interpreting your post
either way I liked all of the tracks on all of the Apinks ever, no exaggeration. I think Boy and I got you (basically the tail end of Une Annee) gets weaker in comparison to the rest of the tracks, but I thought most of the other tracks were pretty good
@above- if Secret ever gets into a T-ara-like scandal people will dig up that gif to prove how Secret are all bullying other members

The thing is there really aren't a lot of full albums. (Seven Springs/Snow Ping both are EP's. Snow Pink > Seven Springs > Une Annee though, imo. Une Annee still a nice full album though.)
Except for the stuff that's already been mentioned A Class/So Cool, although not quite on the same level, also come to mind. Might not be the same for everyone else though.
