Am I the only one who felt the effective 'breakout' of Suju's Sorry Sorry to be that similar to Gee? Like, I didn't really know much about Suju until Sorry Sorry came out. (I knew about SNSD pre-Gee era though).

Ehh, they were pretty mad popular a couple years back when they had U and Don't Don. Basically after Kyuhyun joined up, they became intensely popular, with a boatload of subgroups coming out and even a movie. Didn't appear much in 2008, so that might be the reason why you feel this way.

Can't say the same about SNSD. Sure they were popular in 07/08, but I feel as if the WGs had the spotlight up until 2009 as they came out with some MAD popular songs. Tell Me was fucking overplayed so many times, and it only got worse when they followed it up with So Hot and Nobody. SNSD was aight, but I feel as if Tell Me really vaulted the Wonder Girls to the top.

However, when Gee came out, fans went apeshit nuts, probably cause the WGs bolted to the US and Gee Gee Gee Gee Baby Baby is a ridiculously obnoxiously repetitive yet compelling line.

But still in my opinion, SNSD's songs from 07/08 are better than the shit they're churning out now. Last mini album pretty much sucked except maybe 2 songs.

Tell Me wasn't even that good of a song. I think it was more of the dance catching fire and everyone recording themselves doing it that made it so popular.
Most of the new mini-albums are pretty bad in my opinion. It's like they're trying to keep the fans aware that the group is still active as the companies bring in more superfluous idol groups. I just finished memorizing all the names of snsd -_-

JoKwon is so fucking lame. He exaggerates every movement and gets way too into it. It's scary as hell watchin him sometimes, especially in male cover performances.
