To ensure this thread won't be closed, you must adhere to several a number of simple rules; - Please use spoilers when quoting a post with pictures and/or videos.
- When posting large quantities of media (pictures or videos), please begin spoilering after the first piece. Grouping related videos in the same spoilers & labeling is recommended.
- No reposting of old material unless justified
- Posting any material with little or no relevent discussion accompanying it
- No passion-induced flaming of each other because 'x said y sucked' etc.
- Keep the expression hate of music individuals/groups to a minimal level
- No 'pagetopping' in any form whatsoever, as it constitutes spam equal to posts similar to 'first'.
- No vulgar fan fics or wet dream stories. It is creepy, weird, and it dehumanizes the people who you are here to celebrate/discuss.
- Normal posting standards that you find throughout the rest of the site still apply and will be enforced more strictly from here forward (2012/03/11)
Due to the poor nature of this thread in the past, temporary two-day bans will occur more than often if people slip up. |

But I'm guessing wei2coolman probably was referring just to Taesica. Yeah, I was just referencing to taesica. I try not to get to hung up on misc. posts banters anymore.

So I was walking down the street in Sydney CBD when I see all these tables outside with tubs of kimchi on them. It was a bit strange, but I chose to think nothing of it as we have tons of Koreans here. When I looked up and continued walking I saw this stunning woman walking towards me with an umbrella (it was raining) and I said to myself "man that looks a hell of a lot like Kim Tae Hee", then I see swarms of Koreans and a camera crew and film trucks in the background and realised "holy shit Kim Tae Hee literally just walked past me" and I was pretty floored for a few minutes lol. I texted a Korean friend of mine and he confirmed that she was here for some modeling contest? Pretty nuts. I actually wasn't much of a fan of Kim Tae Hee before, but man she is much better in real life. Her face was TINY!
Probably not the right thread, but I just had to share this because I know there are some Kim Tae Hee fans in here. To make this semi-related, here is a repost of a song I've been digging lately:

It would probably be a drama thread discussion thing if they actually got sidetracked like us. But that's pretty cool, if I were you I would have turned back around and tried to get a picture or something. The tiny face thing is weird but it's a korean ideal, I still don't know why.

I mean if you're talking about the 2 extremes yeah but in terms of finding a small face or the "fist sized face" or whatever I don't see the point...plenty of other things I'd prioritize above that, yet it seems to be something that's mentioned fairly frequently from what I can tell.

I dont get what small face is at all, is it just girls that arnt Raina and Yewon?

Cute face>all other faces.... anyway hers:+ Show Spoiler + is the best imo

I mean yeah, I think he just means that small faces are looked upon more favorably than are larger faces, ceteris paribus.
Clearly cute faces are great :3

big face vs small face is obviously smaller face being more attractive ( in terms of korean beauty standards) because being skinny-> smaller face in most cases. of course koreans find a "small face" of Won Bin more attractive than a "big face" like comedian Jung Hyun Don.
it's pretty ridiculous though when 45kg idol A reveals in the latest variety show that her main complex is that her face isn't as small as 44kg Idol B whose face is as big as her fist which in return is as big as a tennisball.

I still don't quite get it because it's clearly used often as a major factor of beauty. For example I'll read articles all the time about "X Idol displays beauty, shows small face". Why small face? When praising beauty in general why is face size the first thing mentioned? Like I get the small thing face as a factor of the Korean "ideal" beauty or whatever but not as the biggest or one of the biggest factors in determining attractiveness.

Yeah, I find it somewhat irksome too how much apparent weight they put on the size of a person's face. Maybe it's just a cultural thing and perhaps they associate a bunch of other things with a smaller face, but it's not at the top of the list provided someone's face isn't freakishly out of the norm.
|
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
|
Smaller face is preferred to a bigger face because it will be more proportional with your body. If your body is small and you have a big face then it will look weird and it won't be in proportion with everything else.

Are we really discussing this?
Anyway, the new AoA song 10x better than Elvis no joke. This I can actually listen to and I even like it!

actually it's not just koreans that find smaller heads to be more attractive. if you're 5'6", it means the ideal size for your face should be ~8.25 inches long/tall (and 9" for 6'). obviously, a wide face is undesirable as well for all the obvious reasons.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Body_proportions#Basics_of_human_proportions this is why it's extremely rare to find any model, either couture or simply rtw, of either gender under 6'. sometimes, beauty can be objective.

I only mentioned her face was tiny because it didn't seem to be small in pictures/videos, but it was something that really stood out as different in real life. I have seen girls with faces/heads that were so small that it was a turn-off, so there is a limit. I slightly regret not asking for a picture with her, but as I said, I wasn't even sure if it was her at first. I mean, what are the chances that Kim Tae Hee is walking past you on the streets of Sydney?!

AoA butt dance and song pretty decent. Still can't stand the voice of the rapper though, she ruins the entire group for me.
Speaking of butts..
