Someone let me know. There is a lot of variety in Korean music, it's just this is a "kpop" thread and most of the groups appeal to the teenyboppers in Korea. Not surprisingly, American artists are pretty popular there, so you always have pop acts, rappers and R&B singers come to Korea once in a while (Rihanna came very recently). As for domestic music, I would say the two alternative genres that have big followings are underground rap and alternative rock. There are very few acts that end up being popular in the mainstream, but you do see their influences in the pop groups. Even SNSD had a song that reminded me of some of Cherry Filter's work. This is real Korean hip hop, but unfortunately, it can't compete against SNSD dem leggzzzz | ||

Another group in case you are interested. These guys are the closest to going mainstream, simply because the members are good looking (yes fan girls are that shallow). Simon Dominic blows that fag G Dragon out of the water | ||

Those asian makeup pictures are terrible........feel like throwing up. Yeah, I agree that a lot of the asian girls that white guys find attractive tend to be more "hot" than cute. They find the westernized asian girls more attractive than cute "fob" ones I guess. Of course this isn't all white guys, but a lot of them do think this way. Now talking about music, I've been listening to Dok2's Thunderground a lottttttt. I know there's a ton of autotune, but I just like his flow. A lot of swagger haha. | ||
