I change my mind, I agree w/ Tuelite on this one. I know when I'm wrong. seriously, only hipsters wear lenseless frames, that's why i label them hipster glasses.

As i interpreted it the lyric means less that girls who cover themselves up/are prudish are sexy, and more that he wants a girl that is so sexy that she's sexier in a turtleneck and hippie skirts than a nude girl. It's not the lack of nakedness that is sexy, it's the girl that's so sexy she makes a prudish outfit work.

Exactly. I don't watch kpop as a substitute for porn, and in no way do I think the cute side of kpop is not worth following. (Orange caramel, Girl's day, Apink and Crayon pop are among my top groups atm), but suggesting that kpop is "too pure" to have a woman gyrate her hips or slap her inner thigh in a music video is just ridiculous. Maybe it's also because Rania was a smaller group and Secret also occasionally does cute concepts? Wonder how people would react if a "sexy only" group like T-ara had choreo like this. I mean, Hyomin basically rubbed her crotch while lying down for IGCBOY choreo and no one complained then. It's probably because they did numerous cute concepts, and then next video they're grinding their snatch into the camera. Is the choreography too much? Probably not. But it's the combination of the choreography, the outfits, and the camera work that push it over the edge. Next, we need some A Pink grindage. Or IU.

If it wasn't for the pretty girls and revealing outfits kpop probably wouldn't be nearly as popular as it is. Sex sells in every country, not just the US. Getting sexier wouldn't hurt the genre financially at all. I'm sorry, but that statement is so wrong it just screams your own ignorance. Educate yourself. Actually I don't think so. KMD is skewed a bit differently than other communities but I know of plenty that basically only care about the looks and nothing else. Plus a financial argument in a foreign community thread is basically useless because almost none of us can say how people in Korea/Japan (the people actually buying a vast vast majority of shit) feel. Yeah, KMD isn't a good representation of the majority of kpop listeners. And you're right about the financial part. I doubt neither me or Kuja can back up our points with actual Korean/Japanese statistics. All I know is that guys like to watch sexy women doing sexy things, regardless of country. Here, half naked girls promote tons of products and star in every music video without any backlash. It's even quite successful. I'd imagine that it would be similar in Korea/Japan.

I actually don't know how much money is coming in from japan at this point, what I do know is that parents are the ones giving their kids money to buy these albums. I also know that parents do care about how the group presents themselves. Remember the backlash when the Sistar underwear slip happened? You think the kids were complaining about that? No. It was the parents. Also lumping up "looks" in an argument regrading overly sexualized content in Kpop is like me bringing IU into a butt gif spam. They're two different kinds of "looks" and to try to combine the two premises because they both technically fit under that word is disingenuous. That being said Kpop is 50% looks, just not those "looks". Think more aegyo yo.

Most female kpop fans are in their 20s or 30s IIRC No, it was a small blowup reported by SK's shitty entertainment media and translated and slightly sensationalized by American websites for hits. "looks" is poor word choice then. I have stumbled upon and left communities that just post butt gifs and discuss how they'd like IU to be sexier. And as for the Secret discussion, both I and someone else pointed out that the crotch grab isn't anything new. Hyomin did it in IGYBOY while stretched out on chairs, EJ did it in Sexy Love apparently when she took the choreo a little further, HyunA did a lot more than that in Change, Rania and 4minute took it further and cowgirl position humped the floor. Blowing up becuase Secret has done so too seems to be unwarranted. I agree with what Craton said below me. Although there's something about Bubble Pop, while sexualized, that manages to still be within my limits. I think it's cause I've seen enough Hyuna interviews/variety that I picture her as a girl with a cute personality that happens to have exceptional talent at popping "dat ass".

Its just that it hasn't been done (to my knowledge) quite so mercilessly and bluntly before. Again I'm not saying its good or bad, just questioning whether its justified in the context its presented in, and the way its presented. Kpop in general has an overwhelmingly less is more based philosophy behind it; that I like alot. Im not saying Kpop is to holy for the choreography im just saying its breaking from norm in a way that made kpop so unique in the first place.
