To ensure this thread won't be closed, you must adhere to several a number of simple rules;
Please use spoilers when quoting a post with pictures and/or videos.
When posting large quantities of media (pictures or videos), please begin spoilering after the first piece. Grouping related videos in the same spoilers & labeling is recommended.
No reposting of old material unless justified
Posting any material with little or no relevent discussion accompanying it
No passion-induced flaming of each other because 'x said y sucked' etc.
Keep the expression hate of music individuals/groups to a minimal level
No 'pagetopping' in any form whatsoever, as it constitutes spam equal to posts similar to 'first'.
No vulgar fan fics or wet dream stories. It is creepy, weird, and it dehumanizes the people who you are here to celebrate/discuss.
Normal posting standards that you find throughout the rest of the site still apply and will be enforced more strictly from here forward (2012/03/11)
Due to the poor nature of this thread in the past, temporary two-day bans will occur more than often if people slip up.

Whatever, this thread is just beyond the edge. There's no reason for me to ever visit it again.
Why not herald such music into this thread yourself?
I mean when your done being holier then thou that is.

Change is a step down from this and the thread was pretty small back at that time. We're talking page 200.

Maybe there should be a korean idol thread and korean music thread?
No.
See, every so often we'll have a discussion/argument like this and someone mentions that there's other types of Korean music that's not KPop, and people complain, and then someone says we should split it.
Just stop. It's not going to happen, and people will complain no matter what.
So is koreasilver part of the Old Boys Club or is he just a disgruntled lurker? I'm not familiar with the ID. Linzy does kind of look like a boy..... Don't care though.

I dunno what his deal is. I've been around longer than any other active posters (meaning people who post more 1-2 times a month) and the second most active poster in the thread overall.
He's full of shit, though. There isn't some magic utopian KMD era.

After reading this I clicked on page 200 out of curiosity to get a feel for what the thread was like back then. What I saw was an argument over whether SNSD is plastic or not. It honestly seems to me that the major difference now is that there's just a lot more people, so the same petty arguments seem more prevalent.
Then again, I've only been lurking for about a year and regularly posting for a few months so my conclusion could be completely wrong.
In any event, I still haven't liked any performance of Sexy Love since the MNet comeback. The song is still really mediocre, if not bad. The beat is actually quite good but the lyrics counter it quite hard. Fishnets are still disgusting and short hair, especially short blonde hair, is still awful.
Let's get this straight then: KMD was fucking built on a troll who posted genie and talked about how cute and talented snsd was because they could sing and dance at the same time. If anybody expected a thread where we discussed the various qualities and merits of different korean musicians then they were delusional.

koreasilver is/was a lurker who would occasionally post shit. Not a regular, not a 1-time poster.
The thread tonally was different. I wasn't there quite that early but the influx of posters since mid/late 2011 and on (and some would say even before that) really changed the way the thread reads and feels.

Better luck next cycle, I guess.
I like the chorus in a "this is catchy but terrible" kind of way. And the weird synth blooping sounds at the beginning are catchy too. Otherwise yeah, it's kinda meh.
Billboard Korea released the latest top 50 in their chart, seems like Hwayoung gate has not really affected much their sales and stream time since they jumped so much in the course of the week. To be honest I was kinda surprised how big the jump was in both Sezy love and Ahreum song.

Speaking of which, I doubt SYJ is ever posted. I added this to my playlist a few weeks ago after some digging around. He's part of 4Men (which has grossly underrated vocals).
I don't either but it jumped almost 80 positions in the chart that is nuts. Shin Yong Jae is a bro of impressive talent, easily one of the best and youngest singers in Korea. His version of Forgotten Season is so amazing

I bet it felt way different not having to wade through 10 new pages every morning. Was it drastically different in content though?

Thanks Craton, that's what I assumed but I was just making sure.

not too different, it's just the way people post now, seems really saccharine to me. more shit slinging but I also liked it better that way.
It's the community that's changed, not the content being posted.
