Man, I feel like any parody is just not going to be good. I mean the original MV is already comical, so a parody of a joke is just going to not feel right.
I just checked the view count of Gangnam Style on Youtube and it's at 41 million. You guys think it has any chance of dethroning Gee (currently at 82 million) ?
Also, a bit off topic, but does anyone know where I can watch all the episodes of the first season of Invincible Youth (season 1)? PM me because it feels a bit inappropriate to be posting that in this thread, but I feel like you guys would be my best source of information. :/
I don't think it can ever dethrone gee, and if it does gee is just gonna take over again, the only reason being that sones exist. Sones boosted the hell out of Gee's M/V (or any SNSD m/v really) and continue to do so daily I would say (judging from the Gangnam Style comments on the Gee's video). As for Gangnam Style, people will still continue to play it from time to time, but there will never be as many views per day as there is for Gee IMO.
Kara's comeback is around the cornerrrrrr. I can't wait, it's gonna be so awesome. I'm afraid I will be disappointed though since I really liked the sound and look of the teasers so anything below that will be a huge disappointment. High expectations FTL I guess...
Gee is pretty much the most iconic music video for k-pop. Seriously 9 cute girls dancing around, vs a fat funny guy? How can Psy expect to beat that?
Because most foreign people find 9 cute and fairly young girls dancing around in tight outfits kind of weird, while a funny video with a classy guy is much more appealing to watch over and over again.

I've found out that a lot of people not used to K-Pop have a hard time telling how old they actually are. And in Gee, I can understand why some puny mortal would think they're very young. I were at a bigger LAN (100 people) last year and when my SNSD screensaver + Show Spoiler +
turned on, two things happened. First, a lot of nerds found a sudden interest in walking around my PC and the row I was sitting at. The second thing was that a few (read: like two people) never looked at me the same away again. They obviously found it very strange to have young Korean girls staring at you from your PC.
But it's a lot more common among non-nerds to find it weird.
When things go viral all bets are off, I expect it will eclipse Gee's views in no time. It's taken a month to get up to half compared to gee being out 3 years.
Views don't update in real time, but I just watched it and in those 3 minutes there were over 40 new comments. Think about that for a moment.
If I wasn't into kpop and wasn't Asian, I think I would have found both videos pretty "gay". I mean both songs are pretty catchy, I am sure they would've netted me eventually but...

But then the natural process of being interested in females kicks in and you start paying attention to the girls. Find most of them cute, then you see Hyoyeon and get turned off (I jest...maybe...). You just can't do that with PSY's video. But PSY's dance is too addicting.
That's the other thing about YouTube...you don't need girls to get views...if you have some stupid random shit that "some" people find funny, you can net a billion views. Girls come second to stupid random shit.
Also going to bed early means KMD jumps into a new topic and concludes discussions before you wake up I wanted to play rank the girl groups too.
