So if maybe you're a newer or recent fan and would like to know more about their story, I recommend watching it. Shows what it was like for the members as well as the fans back then. Some touching moments and it's well made.
Damn.. Han Seungyeon has really REALLY carried KARA. Mad props to her, I teared up a bit when she was interviewed about how she had to go on weird shows and always be funny etc or they wouldn't be famous.
I thought they were famous because of mister. Actually, on second thought, i'm pretty sure they are famous because of mister, although i do like their songs before that.
According to the video Mister wouldn't even have come about if it wasn't for hanseungyeon. They really struggled in the start and DSP was really close to kicking them all out and going bust it seemed. She was the only one who could book jobs(MSL Break etc) Probably if she couldn't book anything and the rest not getting anything done DSP wouldn't have had any reason to keep them. Especially since SNSD were taking over.
Of course DSP has reason to keep them. They paid money training them before their debut. It's in their best interest to make sure that kara is successful. And its weird how hsy carried kara. I mean she was the only one who could book jobs? really? what about hara? what about nicole? I find that strange.
Hara and Jiyoung weren't in KARA when they debuted, they were added way later. HSY pretty much did everything for KARA until Honey promotions.

I genuinely liked Sistar's album, and in my opinion Twinkle is one of the best albums that has been released in the past year or so.
Dude no. Kara is top 5 popularity in Korea. If you recently got into kpop it might not seem that way because they're pretty much always in Japan but they are one of the hugest girl groups there. Looking at album sales, fanbase numbers, etc. there's no way that Kara isn't that big. Money's better in Japan so ofc they're going to spend more time there but anyone who thinks they're middle tier or whatever is wrong.
Releases have been disappointing. 4minute always sucks but this time sucks harder than usual. Girl's Day song is bad and they ruined Yura. Big Bang continues to disappoint me because they used to be alot better. Ma Boy remains the only Sistar song I like, and that was a subgroup song. I almost forgot Miss A had a new song given the little hype it got and how average it was.
@Nickson- BAP is good as is Ailee. Don't care about Spica and EXO is terrible.
Top 5 girl group, maybe, I am not informed enough about numbers and stuff to draw an actual conclusion. And definitely don't want to start another list spam of who thinks are the most popular girl groups. However what I do know is, is that their popularity in Japan is no joke, whereas in Korea I still have my doubts. The concert in Korea with all the empty seats comes to mind, not sure how real that was though.
They are a group that debuted quite a while ago, that should be taken in consideration as well. Anyway, the point I was trying to make wasn't about Kara's popularity. But disagreeing that HSY alone was the cause of their succes.
I'm not trying to rank them either but if you look at popularity in Korea, Kara is always up there with SNSD, 2ne1, WG, etc. I think that the perception they're not as popular comes from the fact that they spend more time in Japan these days.
Also while HSY kept the group alive (don't know how true that is or w/e) they wouldn't be relevant at all if it wasn't for Mister.
Or rather, Mister's choreographer.
Ding ding! It really boils down to that. Tho if you want to get into details, they're popularity grew quite a bit around Honey when they first started winning on music shows.
on the topic of comebacks/debuts this year I kinda liked exo's predebut song, heaven, eviagradation, and yangpa's song. edit: add baek ji young's comeback to that list

wallbase.cc is tha best. Cept for Kpop, not every artist is on it. If you want to try your luck try this.
Netizen is a funny weird on allkpop ^^

Your point is? It's still made up by netizens, the fact that it is in Hangul doesn't make it any more valid.
Yeah. Like, it's translated, but poorly translated, and written up by a Korean news source...that reported on a popular post on the internet. It's like saying TMZ is credible.
@Juliette- Qri has been fine lately, just didn't look good at the airport for whatever reason.
Also regarding T-ara in general- does anyone have all of the versions of the Roly Poly individual PVs? Only like, 4 of them were posted and I'm guessing ones were made for everyone in the group? I've searched youtube and message boards and shit and haven't found anything.

I doubt that's in Paris, given the style of the trashcan.
