I think they formed Taetiseo because those 3 would rather sing and perform than act in a drama (Yoona, Yuri, Jessica, Sooyoung). Hyo + Sunny are currently in a variety show.

Except SM explicitly said that member lineup can change for the subunit depending on what music and concept they want to go for. I think we could see another subunit next year.
As for the Sunny, Hyoyeon, Sooyoung, sad lineup, that would be a really powerful dance group and they could go for that style of music rather than a more vocally oriented approach. Sunny can easily carry the vocals, and Sooyoung isn't THAT bad when it comes to singing. Obviously they wouldn't be the vocal powerhouse unit that TTS is.
I hope SM does continue with more subunits while other members are busy with other things. It's really nice to be able to get new music and stuff even when most of the group is busy with acting and whatnot.

Dunno, pretty sure even Sones wouldn't support such a worthless and talentless group consisting of hideously looking trolls.
I don't think it's song plagiarization but everything comes in waves- everyone did the whole retro thing at the same time, shuppling/club tracks are in now, etc. at the same time. Someone sees some concept become popular and then everyone does variations on the same concept.
