Moderation practices don't start it, but they don't stop it either. Do we really need to rehash how long it has taken for what should be common-sense practices to finally be added as rules? How about all of the things that still haven't been mandated like spoilering media beyond the first when you've got large content, prohibiting stories of people's kpop wet dreams, and actually warning people who post like this is AKP:

You can't sit here and say you cringe when someone does a report and then ask people to be more diligent about reporting. It's painfully obvious that you look down on this thread and its posters. I can't even fathom how you could seriously compare the My Little Pony thread to this one, but I digress. Stop treating us like it's an "us and them" situation where it's the clean saintly moderation staff standing above looking down at the "lowly incongruous" posters of KMD. That attitude is precisely the problem of the disconnect between staff and thread posters.

If moderation staff would actually listen to the thread and update rules in a timely fashion, you'd curtail a lot of the shitty posting that happens from time to time, but we're invariably waiting 6 months to a year every time. Overall the thread quality doesn't change much. There's always a few morons arguing about something like being banned from a stream chat, but that is hardly specific to KMD and exists in large threads of all kinds. You'll see the exact same shit in the LoL subforum and even SC2 sections. My problem is how incredibly obnoxious it is to see a moderator come in every couple of months, maybe finally enact rules asked for a year ago, claim the thread's going to shit (it's not), and simultaneously insult the posters of this thread in sweeping language and then turning around and going "It's only some of you."

Since you want to talk about incongruity, let's do so: not very long ago, moderators arbitrarily started intermittently enforcing people not spoilering quoted shit before it was actually added as a rule, but since it was so infrequent and not listed nobody knew it was even prohibited (even regulars like me). Further, the top note NEVER UPDATES after a "New Rule" is added, so nobody notices when that new rule becomes something else, which is precisely what happens when said rule was finally added. It's been more than enough time since it was added: move it from the new rule section and put it with the others. When the next thing comes along, maybe people will actually notice. It's not just some posters who are incongruous.

So again: stop asking like it's an "us or them" situation. If you're going to actually be diligent about moderation, good. Otherwise, please stop dropping by a handful of times a year to make these posts.

The repost rule is supposed to be about blatant reposting of content e.g. things that were posted the same day or even on the same page. It was very common for the same picture/video/news article to be posted multiple times on consecutive pages prior to that rule. There's also the issue of random people walking into the thread and posting a picture/video of something that everyone has seen 500 times (e.g. Kara - Mister) as if it was just released.

Regarding rule 1: This should be spoilered past the first picture because each one is nearly a page tall. This is fine because both pictures are quite small. The jist of it is that if you're going to post a large picture, everything else should be spoilered so it doesn't take up multiple pages and make it a pain to scroll through the thread.

It should be pretty self-explanatory about curtailing the whole wetdream nonsense. The spastic posts are just as bad since they don't even meet a minimum threshold of posting quality and are generally cringe-worthy and off-putting

And I again reiterate the need for the "New Rule" to be moved to the regular section after it's been in place for a few weeks. When you simply leave it there for half a year until the next thing gets added, it's unduly difficult to notice that it's changed because the format itself is identical. You gloss over the notice unless something pops out about it since you get used to seeing it every time you open the thread.
