+ Show Spoiler [Claim your reward] + You thought I was going to post some Nicole didn't you ? + Show Spoiler [metagame'd you son] + We must go even deeper. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() On January 22 2012 21:28 andyrau wrote: Kara could've been THE girl group. finkl successor egpg Agreed, she was a really great singer and beautiful too, lots of potential. Without her and with Hara and Jiyoung they have no credibility as singers. On January 22 2012 21:28 andyrau wrote: why did seunghee have to fail her entrance exams t.t Maybe because she was being slaved, singing and dancing 12 hours a day for less than minimum wage with no apparent form of success in sight. Can't really blame her. lol I find it funny when they lip-sing 3/4 and actually sing 1/4 of the song and it suddenly gets munch louder. Call me crazy but I kinda like it lol, makes you anticipate the singing lol and appreciate it when they actually try. Also sometimes I don't understand when/why they choose to lip-sing or actually sing, for instance, at 1:20, Nicole's part is fairly easy and not demanding and not too munch dancing has been done so she shouldn't be out of breathe and could sing that part however she clearly stops midway through. And just before that at 1:17, Jiyoung actually sings while she's out of breathe and end up sounding pretty bad. Also, someone had to post that Gyuri was filming something during the recording for me to notice that she wasn't there lol. That's either telling on how munch she has no stage presence or how munch Nicole is too good and captivates the audience <3.

I saw that they started up a donation to get food on the set of Jiyeon's new movie. I never heard of any movie set that doesn't have caterer nonetheless starting up donation to give them food. Are the production companies that poor or is it just abunch of crazy fans wanting to give everything to their idol? Man i feel dumbfounded. Music sales isn't anything to write home about. Albums sales pay off either a negligible lump sum after a target amount sold or a slim percentage per album. Digital sales, which is becoming predominant, is a ripe dicking. Let's take an itunes price scheme and broke it down for a kpop idol. 99 cents for a song, 50 cents go to the distributor that the managing label approached to have it inserted into the internet, 40 cents goes to the managing label, 3 cents goes to one artist union, 3 cents to one other, the idol receives the remainder. Thing is Koreans don't use itunes, they rely on melon, soribada, etc. These digital distributors approach sells far different from itunes for a sum of money paid a subscriber receives a fixed amount of mp3s, be they old or the most recent releases, i.e 30 songs for 10 usd, 100 songs for 20 usd, etc. Looking at a few coins per song sold, the idol(s) receiving a percentage of one of those coins. Stage performances offer a few thousand USD per, don't remember if that gets percentaged away to the management, the crew, and backup dancers.

Majority of their income comes from sponsorships and ads they take part in.. the rest is almost negligible in comparison

Although my understanding is that unlike in America, Korean labels actually get a cut of performance $, so I imagine they manage to dick the bands over there.
