Back then, it was Eugene from SES, Hyori and Yuri from FinKL, and Heejin, Eunjin and Eunhye from Baby VOX.
I sort of lost touch with Kpop for a while and the girls I remember catching my eye from the more recent Kpop trend were the Wonder Girls and SNSD, specifically Sunmi and Taeyeon. Again, there were male artists that I liked as well, but I don't think anyone's interested in those for this particular discussion.
yesssssss finkl was the bestttttt after finkl I really liked se7en, even his japanese stuff. I was so sad when his career committed suicide in America TTTT + Show Spoiler +
In that case, HOT was huge in getting me into Kpop, as were DJ DOC and Turbo. Yoo Seung Joon (poor bastard), 1TYM, Jinusean, and Shinhwa also played their parts.
More recently, it was Big Bang who played the biggest role in getting me back into Kpop, along with Se7en. Didn't like Super Junior much until Sorry, Sorry.

I was probably like 9 or 10 when shinhwa and Turbo debuted. I was planning to listen to their discography one of these days but I can't find any of their albums in more than 128kbps
I got into kpop with the wonder girls in the spring of this year. The only time before hand I had listened to kpop was some random big bang video 3 years ago and when I stumbled upon the SNSD facebook page that my friends were liking. I listened to a song, liked the page, forgot about it, and disliked later. And then I somehow got into the Wonder Girls this spring with their songs So Hot and Nobody. They were epic. And then I got into SNSD and I've never looked back(ok, maybe I did after The Boys, but I came back to them)!
First girl was Sooyoung!!!!!!! Favorite SNSD member until I stumbled on super kawaii-I mean cute pictures of Taeyeon!!!!!! So now I like Taeyeon and Soyeon from T-ara also.
I started watching when Kissing You or Girl's Generation came out. Never really hardcore follower but I listened to their songs regularly that was introduced by a friend of mine. I was still more of the Japanese stuff back then. Anime, and them songs. Sukima Switch anyone? :D I guess a lot of us were more of the Japanese stuff? Or well this is a SC forum so maybe not And when Gee started, it was so big, I listened to it for a while and I was still not really following hardcore. My friend told me to watch WGM because Taeyeon was on it but I was like "WTFrealityshowfuckthatyo". So I ditched that. And then somehow I started watching Korean movies, a Moment to Remember (best K-movie handsdown), anyone? It was on and off, when I had time... which wasn't a lot because I played WoW most of the time. ^^ Since I didn't really have time to follow series, I sticked with movies. Some other friend introduced me to Lyn and Suju - U (both great stuff)
And then came Oh! and RDR, I didn't knew they were out until some time after these promotions. Then my friend came and poke me again with the songz. This was when I started trying to recognize them, yes took me quite a while to initiate this :p I already knew Taeyeon because she was the leader, Hyoyeon because she obviously stood out most (she's pretty now). And then I got to know Sunny and her aegyo. I think I spent 3hours straight watching her stuff on Youtube. And then my friend said you have to watch IY yo. So I did, thank fuck for that, I got to know HyunA. :D The show was already at the part of their departure (Victoria etc). I started to try and recognize every single Idol. Listened to some of the different groups. To a point where 's music wasn't great at all. My playlist contained more of T-ara than anything else.
Anyways I started to get the varietyshow vibe and then I started watching WGM. Started with Gain and Jokwon because it was most popular and also because Gain imba smex in Abracadabra. Followed by Seohyun (started to like her more and more because she was very different...) and Yonghwa > Victoria and Nickhun (genuine/sweet/nais couple, good start but it got slow). All still ongoing <3 I urged for more variety so I started some random fanboy ones incl 's Hello Baby and GGTS. Went on to subbed episodes from Heroes (whoa now I understand the love for NICOLE!) and Strong Heart (Eunhyuk, funny chap). Family Outing was on my list and I only watched a few episodes when RunningMan ep with Sunny and Yoona came so I switched to that. Somewhere in between I think Hoot came out, I didn't dislike it but it was weird...
Well so I started actively following Kpop around mid 2010. Only 1 and a half year :O Seems like eternity already
Go watch Qualification of Men Choir.
I only wanted to write about how it all started with Sunny but it turned out big so I kept writing My bias Sunny, Nicole and HyunA will never fade

It reminds me of their second song in the slower tempo, but I like it.
Just gotta say, that's my sister's best friend. She's rad sick yo :D She needs more love! (No matter how cheesy/terrible the MV looks. Yes, even she hates the fakeass guitar playing, but she's new so they won't devote much time/budget to her D: )
Edit: god damn emoticons
Edit 2: Oh, and OT: My first girl was Jaejoong :D:D:D:D *eyes glaze over* ... Then Taeyeon and boa
So I actually only just finished watching the Cry Cry choreo vid. But dam that's sick, including a song that is really good as well, I can't imagine this not being a succesfull promotion for T-ara. If they don't win anything that would be a huge dissapointment. I'm looking forward to their first comeback stage tomorrow.

I think it was because she looks the least weird to someone who's used to gaze at western women and is overwhelmed by the sudden asian experience. It changed fast though, got bored of her. She stands out for being tall but nothing else.

Sooyoung for me as well, especially during the Genie promotions.
Surprisingly, this is the case for me too. xD
Don't really post here often, just lurk, but I have to say, after seeing the Cry Cry dance video, it's gonna be the first time I'm happy to see a live performance from T-ara.
