good song from iris soundtrack it's weird that lee jung hyun is singing normally. usually her songs are quirky and unique, but this is a pretty standard ballad.

I thought as a whole the Genie album was better than the Gee album. Gee (song) is best individually but as a whole mini-album, I liked the Genie songs more. Whatever. As for 'Show Me', maybe I haven't listened to it enough/listened to a good enough version, but I hope they choose another title track.

Even if Genie wasn't as good as Gee, it still had to have been a half decent song or else they wouldn't have been able to stay as popular throughout the entire year and overtake SuJu or the infamouse 2NE1. No single song will carry you through 12 months alone, not even Gee (hint: Gee and Genie eclipsed ITNW 5x over at least in terms of impact). Whatever, clearly I won't stray your trains of thought. Well, the songs they decided to promote on their 1st album, each of em got #1's (Girls Generation, Kissing You, and even Baby Baby). I think they're going by actual song quality (which ITNW show's off their vocal skillset and choreo ability) which Gee is lacking vocally and Genie kinda matches up to ITNW. Gee's minialbum was pretty good I thought. Lets Talk About Love and Dear Mom were performed vs Honey on Genie's minialbum. 2NE1 actually managed to push over SNSD during live music shows (especially Inki Gayo). Girls can't get enough of CL and Park Bom (and you know guys love Park Bom and Sandara Park). Aren't you glad SM ridded themselves of this group cuz they would've had ITNW as one of their songs.I miss you HyunJin ![]() More HyunJin love lollll And a Bonus, SMTown when slave driving wasn't as bad

Until then, comparing SNSD's vocal to 2ne1 is like comparing DBSK to Big Bang's Vocals

I wouldn't say they can all sing well. Dara is clearly not a great singer nor a great dancer (not bad though, and many worse in Kpop), but she gives the group personality and is arguably the only one that most people generally find to be attractive. Bom can clearly sing and sing very well as she's demonstrated in most of their songs and in "You And I". She actually has a pretty distinctive sound for Korean music and I happen to like it a lot. CL and Minzy have both shown that they can sing as well as rap in both their group songs and in their solos in "Please Don't Go". Examples:

Taeyeon is consistently oustanding, Tiffany seems to really enjoy singing and put a lot of work into it, Sunny has impressed me at various times, Jessica I feel is a little overrated but has a distinct sound, Yuri and Sooyoung have impressed when it's just them, Seohyun has a very sweet voice, and the other two are just okay. However, I don't think many of them have very distinctive sounds and I have trouble at times distinguishing their voices when it's just audio. However, that's unsurprising when there are so many of them and they get so little actual singing time. The fact that they don't have any actual bad singers is impressive considering they have 9 members. On the other hand, I like 2NE1 (and Big Bang for that matter) because they have a distinctive sound that is different from the rest of the Kpop bands. Their music and sound stands out, and their live performances tend to stand out. I'm also a fan of hip hop and R&B, and they're the only boy/girl groups that really give off that vibe and feeling. SNSD and Big Bang's stuff tends to blend in with what many other groups put out, albeit at a higher level in general.

2NE1 sings in English better than Wondergirls even though they have no training for the American market.

2NE1 has park bom, Sandara park, and CL to help Minji park bom went to the states for college so her english is fluent, and sandara's from the Philippines where they speak fluent english as well.. I have no idea how CL's english is so good maybe she was in the states as well. you don't need to have training for the american market to have good english pronunciation

I have no idea how CL's english is so good maybe she was in the states as well. you don't need to have training for the american market to have good english pronunciation I know that CL traveled a lot growing up, so my guess is that she probably lived in English-speaking countries throughout her life. IMO, Minji's English skills are very impressive considering that she grew up in Korea and has never lived anywhere else. Simply having groupmates who are fluent in English doesn't make it easy to sound fluent. One factor on her side is that she started with YG at a very young age, and YG has a good number of people with good English (i.e. Teddy, Kush, Jinu, etc.). SNSD's Seohyun's better-than-you'd-expect English supports the idea that it helps to start young. Edit: One thing that seems to be the hardest for Koreans to overcome when speaking/singing English is their tendency to pronounce V's as B's. Short of native English-speakers, it's always there. It comes up all the time too because the word "love" (or "luh-bu") comes up so often.
