^yeah it's more about popularity than anything else, which is why 89/90 is viewed as such a good year. I think that'll turn around as more and more of the 93 girls reach an older age, for the more "mature" groups or to debut as leaders rather than as average members/maknaes.
edit- the bts video of Rania on the same channel as the vid I linked earlier just proved to me a couple things:
1. Some of the Rania girls are ridiculously hot, like top-tier in kpop,
and
2. They can sing really fucking well. The BTS video shows them practicing in the recording studio or whatever and they sound amazing, even for non-kpop standards. I'm sure that may be true for some other groups, but none of them really show that, and that bts had the whole groups singing ridiculously well, there was no "Visual/acting" member holding them back (Qri in T-ara, Sunhwa in Secret, etc.)

edit- hyoyoung being mentioned reminds me that 5dolls is no longer as entertaining to watch because someone listened to feedback/netizens and drastically cut down on the amount of oil used on the legs.

I didn't say that 5dolls was sexually appealing, only that them dancing with the ridiculous amount of oil on their legs was funny for some reason.

And yeah new B2ST album is the shit, 2pm hasn't done anything good since Again and Again/Jay left, and Big Bang is awesome.

It was kinda over before it started. Again&Again was when they were at their best. Their whole style changed and it's so... unmanly.

Do you guys think B2ST is effeminate? To me, they don't seem to suffer the same plague that 2PM has.

^yes, but only as much as every kpop boy band is. The fact that their image is tailored to appeal to Korean girls doesn't change the fact that the music they put out is still pretty great for kpop standards. Also, don't know names but dude who got the red hair for this round of promotions just looks weird with it.

I feel like they're not as much as the other ones. Some boy bands are so damn unbearably feminine.

Dude with red hair looks fine to me. First one I noticed cuz of his hair. Marketing worked well.

Kikwang (I think? He was sleeveless in the KBS comeback) that dude has some arms. I can appreciate arms.

ewwww....I just think the red hair is both an unnatural color and makes his face look weird. Also, Yoseob is hella talented as a vocalist but I can't get over how he looks like a chimp. Face is really distracting lol. Kikwang is the closest I'll get to being an actual fan of an individual male kpop artist. G-dragon would have fit the bill a couple years ago but he's just really fucking weird now.

I've noticed a lot of people haven't heard of B2ST/BEAST.

I'm telling you, these guys are legit. I had the chance to watch their pre-debut documentary and their success now is really great to see.

Do check them out, particularly their songs

Breathe, Shock, I'm Sorry, Say NO, Clenching my fist tight,
and especially their latest album that just got released. They stepped up hard and honestly can rival the appeal I had for Big Bang's release of Lies/Haru Haru a few years ago.

On Rainy Days and Fiction are from the new album. I know Cube Ent. tries to appeals to girls but like a previous user mentioned, these guys are great. These guys make me want to be a a kpopboyband member NO HOMO LOL
