ShizuAka just much stronger character wise, the conflict that Vorona brings just can't compare to what Akane brings. Not to mention how Akane has the room for Shizuo development whereas Vorona is just onesided Vorona crush on Shizuo. Far as interactions goes, Tom is by far more interesting than Shizuo to have doing things with Vorona. The two blondes just way too similar to get meaningful development.

Eh I think CB's strengths lied in its storyboards, animation, music, and style more than its characters or overarching story.

Cowboy Bebop is pretty good as a gateway anime. It has very few of the little quirks that most mainstream anime have, and as a result, is the closest to the regular tv series you see in the west. And since it doesn't weird people out as much, it's a lot of people's first anime. Hence the love. K-On episode 27, wtf. Is this a DVD only episode or something? R2's awesome. Confusing at first, but things cleared up with the first few episodes. I've watched up to the part where Lolouch/Zero and that Chinese Guy (can't remember name) saved themselves and the Empress after the wedding. Episode 11 I think. And now the Knights of the Round are going to Ashford Academy. I just started Code Geass less than a week ago. First anime I've watched in a long time!!! :D On March 22 2011 13:21 DarthXX wrote: It seems I was mistaken, there is indeed a new Code Geass anime in the works, called Code Geass Gaiden: Boukoku no Akito (Akito of the Ruined Nation in english) . As far as I can tell its not a sequel but a sidestory that takes place during the events of Season 1. + Show Spoiler [Sources] + http://www.moetron.com/2011/01/05/code-geass-gaiden-boukoku-no-akito-character-designs/ http://myanimelist.net/anime/8888/Code_Geass_Gaiden:_Boukoku_no_Akito Not much more info about this series can be found atm. ...I wish they would make a direct sequel. ;(

If you like the general theme of Code Geass, you should also watch Death Note, very similar types of anime.

It is very episodic. I think you'd like the movie much more if you're into longer plots. The few fight scenes are a few of the best.

![]() The times I do like episodic type series are when they're comedies, like Fumoffu or TWGOK for example.

The semi-appearances of the syndicate and that woman (Julia was it?) didn't feel like enough to go by. Felt like the show didn't aim for anything especially. Nevertheless, it was decently made and considering it was a show that had it's orginal run pre-2000 still is one of the better space action type of anime (excluding all of your gundams and the like). But the show could have used a few more episodes for a coherent clearly outlined main plot.

It is quite literally what you would get if an American company produced something anime but only borrowing the style. The fighting scenes are pretty much still the best you are going to find in any anime, both in choreography and animation. Less is certainly more in this case, no need to have giant laserbeams to keep things exciting. Finally i think the fact that it had a very solid dub and aired on MTV really made it popular. It was pretty unique for it's time, the time when downloading tons of anime was for the majority of people a technologically impossible feat. Back then Anime was new and especially stuff like Cowboy Bebop and Ghost in the shell weren't just new, they were also cool, it was stuff that you could tell your friends about it. Today Anime is more of a niché thing and certainly has a nerd-stigma on it. Let's be honest the average joe is not watching anime and isn't intrested in it in the least. Cowboy Bebop was a show that cleared the road for a golden-age of anime wich has since dissapeared when companies flooded the markets with trash and killed the goose with the golden eggs. Maybe it's part nostalgia when you could still believe that anime was going to take over the world.

Netflix, watch the first episode alone, it's one of the most prominent fuckups SYFY has ever done by canceling the series. The show was amazing and has a huge following but they still managed to fuck up the scheduling for it and therefore canceled due to low viewers...
