stopped watching: The Unaware Atelier Meister: started kind of chill and fun but got boring at half the series. the plot had something nice but i couldnt finish it.
The Beginning After the End: i dont even remember why i stopped nor even remember the 1st chapter.
watching and looking super good: Kowloon Generic Romance: only 2 chapters watched and i thinks is great!
Go! Go! Loser Ranger! Season 1: is this a hidden gem? almost finished the 1st season and overall it is very good. im really enjoying it.
Finished: Saga of Tanya the Evil : i was expecting nothing and was surprised by this series. damn what a ride!
Not sure how many Gundam fans there are here but Gundam GQuuuuuuX just finished.
I think overall it's decent, with lots of pacing issues. The 3D surprisingly good, with very nice chronograph combat scenes.
You do have to be somewhat an OG Gundam fan to appreciate everything. I myself didn't watch the OG series but played way more than enough games to know the plot and characters.
It's good to see as a Gundam fan how the franchise is trying to build more unique "ungundam" like series. Witch from mercury did well and this one is another win
Yeah I'd have to disagree there. Gquuux was kinda advertised as an alt-history thing, but by the end of the show, the UC characters ended up taking center stage, stealing the spotlight away from the supposed main cast. Nyaan, Machu, and Shuji are all poorly developed because of it. It's baffling that they play up the emotional angle when we have barely seen them interact on-screen.
Shuji literally goes away for half the show. We're told that the girls love him, but it's a tough pill to swallow when we're not presented with any real justification for that. It ends up feeling entirely fabricated. Also Nyaan and Machu can't shut up about Shuji. I swear 50% of their lines were related to him in some fashion.
The clan battle supporting cast ultimately didn't do anything. I'm not sure why they bothered showing them in the final montage. The new Zeon cast was equally pointless.
Nyaan killed a ton of people but it's okay. Gato would be proud. Somehow she still ends up being sidelined in the last ep.
This show is polarizing at best. Given that it places so much emphasis on series callbacks, I'd argue that it's absolutely not an entry point for the uninitiated. Even if you power through those moments, a lot of the new stuff is just very half-baked. Witch from Mercury at least has some qualities despite being rushed. Gquuux is so poorly written that I wouldn't recommend it at all.

I can see why it's polarising, I didn't love it as much as witch from mercury for similar reason.
But if you don't treat it as a stand alone show, you'd like it a lot more.
It's almost fan fiction like plot where the main cast aren't mean to steal the spotlight. (and I remember reading something the creator/author saying they were surprised the show got greenlit)
The reception in Asia, especially Japan is really good. with the last episode with the surprise seiyuu from a few of the OG cast and this song trending in japan Twitter.
everyone can be anyone on the internet, but I saw some japanese user saying they were 30-ish when they watched char counter attack in theater, and now they are 70-ish getting all emotional when this song plays at that scene.
In the end I kinda just shrug. I like the old UC nostalgia stuff with the rest of them, but I don't think it had to come at the expense of the overall story.
I don't think the story suffered too much. The show is pretty short in general but it's a nice experience trying to figure things out as you go (if you didn't read the spoilers etc.)
I'm currently watching the original gundam. I'm a huge Eva fan, and I think Ive done myself a disservice by not watching the original shows that eva is subverting.
I've only watched gundam wing and the 1st season of witch of mercury. I'm always amazed how huge the gundam booth at anime expo is every year (cant wait to go in a few days!)
Apparently gundam wing isn't very popular in the fandom, it was really cool to me as a kid watching on toonami....but my understanding is that its only popular because it was on toonami back in the aughts.
The OG Gundams were ok but are a bit dated now. Very long and animation style is really old. I think they did a great job with the reboot, condensing the story and doing awesome animation.
If you're new to the series I can wholeheartedly recommend: MSG: The Origin (compressed OG storyline) MSG: Iron-Blooded Orphans (alternate) MSG: 00 (alternate) MSG: The Witch From Mercury (alternate)
Those would be my top picks to display the Gundam vibe.

I liked them. I liked most of the Gundam series. But it is _vast_ and I listed just 4 that aren't too long and catch the atmosphere and topics raised in Gundam shows well so any newcomer to the series can quickly judge if it's for them or not (and it's not for everybody since it's not your typical anime most of the time). Also, each show I listed is quite different from each other, showcasing different spins on the Gundam, alternate universes/timelines etc.
In each of those shows Gundam is different and it has different lore/mythology and follows different rules (yet still you retain certain similarities between different shows).
So no Wing Gundam? I feel like that would be a very good entry as well into the series.
To Be Hero X had some of the best animation and fighting this season. Bowa vs Queen was *chef's kiss* fucking majestically done!
Fire Force S3, Teogonia, Wind Breaker S2, and Super Cube. That's about it really in terms of anime that stood out to me. This was honestly a pretty bleak season of just bad shows.

I'm actually really enjoying the original series. There's a few things I don't understand, like where the hell is the backup if White Base is on earth and that I assumed is Federation territory. On the episode I'm on the Federation can't even supply them until they get out of Zeon airspace which is crazy?
The vibe really reminds me of Battlestar Galctica, which I loved so that's probably why i enjoy it in spite of it being old.
Also they have those scopes that come down, you know the kinda scope that Luke rejects using at the end of a new hope? I think that old school tech is super cool.
Also my friend told me bright is like 19 years old. Crazy!!
Kinda surprised Demon Slayer Infinity Castle is doing only a few months release globally. Usually there is like almost a year before the release
Guess japanese anime film industry is finally learning and like processing stuff fast enough (licensing subbing etc etc) so that they get like not one of those almost year global release again.
It's around 1-2 months depends where you live which is nice. Global fans arent gonna be that blueballed

Some were pretty good.
Gundam GQuuuuuuX Apothecary Diaries (cont) Bye Bye Earth (cont) Your Forma Lazarus Sword of the Demon Hunter
There were also some trashy but enjoyable series:
The Too-Perfect Saint: Tossed Aside by My Fiancé and Sold to Another Kingdom A Ninja and an Assassin Under One Roof The Beginning After the End (I don't know where the drama is coming from, sure the animation isn't stellar but it's perfectly watchable) The Brilliant Healer's New Life in the Shadows Catch Me at the Ballpark
I've heard some good opinions on Apocalypse Hotel and I think Kowloon Generic Romance (more like sci-fi psychological thriller) will be peak but I was waiting for it to complete the season before going past E3.
To Be Hero X has some good animation and stuff but I feel like it was paced rather poorly with disjointed stories. Right when things were starting to get interesting for a character they just drop it and go into another character's arc. This really took me out of it with this roller coaster of peak interest -> completely new story with new characters out of the blue. Super confusing.
I wonder what's going on there. A-1 pictures reported a huge financial loss last year (for the first time in a decade, they were in the green before). Considering how successful Solo Leveling was I'm really curious as to what happened there.

Well, they are owned by Aniplex. Would assume whatvever Solo Leveling and other shows generate go to Aniplex, A! gets their funds from Aniplex,
So I read it as Aniplex hasnt given A1 enough to cover the cost of producing these shows.
