In the positive surprise, I will also say that Trigun has consistently gotten better as the weeks go on which is really nice. On the negative side, I've never seen a show with such insane pacing as Spy Classroom. It blows my mind that the choice was for the first few episodes to be before the mission, then an episode or 2 of the mission, then to go BACK and do 2 more episodes that take place between episodes 1-2 and 3-4. "Will the team get together before the mission?" Well of course they will, we literally saw the mission already

One of the best shows in recent seasons, to bad we didnt get a announcement on a season2, but im sure it will come I sure hope so, EiS was an amazing watch. Really refreshing to see an isekai where the main OP protagonist isn't really interested in saving the world or other bullshit but instead just wants to live his power fantasy where he's a forgettable nobody by day and invincible avenger by night. He actually has fun with it and so does the audience along with him. How do you hide your OPness? How OP are you actually? And whatever we're shown is just top notch badassery. + Show Spoiler + In the final episode during his fight with Beatrix when he takes a step forward and vanishes before his foot touches the ground has to be one of the most badass moves in anime history.

Emminence in Shadow: really good 7/10 Mou Ippon: nice judo anime. pretty chill Isekai Nonbiri Nouka: another chill anime, enjoying it so far Benriya Saitou-san, Isekai ni Iku: i dont remember who recommended this but is reall good and fun. thanks! Hikari no Ou: another really good anime so far. the story and misteries of the anime keep me watching stopped watching Ooyukiumi no Kaina: i dont like the MC, the story is ok or even good but the MC and the animation was too much for me to continue. Tondemo Skill de Isekai Hourou Meshi: every chapter is basically the same... watched till ep 5 iirc

Really great show. On February 17 2023 01:39 chipmonklord17 wrote: In what feels like an insanely quick turn around from Season 2, Rent a Girlfriend Season 3 will be out this July. This should actually be the best season yet as it will introduce Mini and the only actual good arc in the entire series in the "Making a Movie" arc. I would be interested if I didn't know that after this arc it regresses to the beginning basically and gets worse going onwards with no sign of conclusion on the horizon. I've dropped this series for those reasons. MC is super unlikable garbage that can't progress at all and after he does get a bit of growth he reverts back and even gets worse. The situations in the show drag on forever because none of the characters are able to resolve them since none of them are able to change or grow (and it's a wrong kind of drama). I have absolutely no interest in this show any more.

First few episodes seemed rather disjointed and all over the place but then it all came together nicely and is progressing well. The show does a great job of balancing dark and serious themes with comedy and absurd, subverting expectations and making mockery of some anime tropes. Our characters have time up to a count of 100 to do something? Timer shows up on the screen and starts ticking down in real time instead of dragging minutes into several episodes (DBZ I'm looking at you). Really great show. At this point I just read it because I've already read nearly 300 chapters so I might as well spend 5 minutes on a Monday keeping it up, but I can't stand what the author did to the characters post Movie arc. Although I will say the past 3 or so chapters have actually been good again and I'm waiting for the inevitable disappointment to strike once again.

The action was mostly suggested. That trailer looked intriguing but the more it went in, the less interested it made me, since it doesn't represent the manga well at all.

To be fair, I think if you release a non-niche trailer these days, you need it to be at least somewhat flashy to be considered interesting by a significant number of people. Imagine how many people would watch a trailer that contains 3 minutes of people talking and would be immediately turned off. If a trailer for Monster would release today I'm sure it would be a bunch of gun stand-offs, chases and maybe a certain Johann-scene, even though >90 % of the series is basically conversations. So, while I agree with you, I don't think this trailer is necessarily indicative of how the show is going to adapt the manga.
